Mod Pack Guidance Center Thread

Mod Pack Studio 2.0 runs with all versions of Windows*. However, you may receive an error message, "16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem...The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications..."

Reason, one or more of the following files are missing and/or damaged on your computer, autoexec.nt, command.com, and config.nt.

This is NOT a Windows or Mod Pack Studio 2.0 problem, the cause seems to be a Downloader Trojan on your computer (maybe TrojanDownloader.Win32.Dia.a) which places programs on your machine, removing and/or damaging autoexec.nt, config.nt and command.com.

For more information go Here. You will find a free download to restore the three files, unzip and copy them to C:\WINDOWS\system32. You should also look into the recommended actions.

aveatorchubz This is my first time using a modding tool and when I try to run the application a screen pops-up and says...

The program or feature
"\??\C:\USERS\RYAN\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\~EXB0000\DISK1\SETUP.EXE" cannot sart or run due to incombatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows.
Please contact the sooftware vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows combatible version is available.

after that happens and I press o.k. another screen pops-up that says...

WinExec failed" return=216

then deltes itself. That happens every single time and I really want to try your modding tool. Could you help me?
P.S, the same thing happens with your lite version also.
TheLaughingMule Did you go to the forum links the author provided? I don't think it works on 64 bit, but you can ask at the forum.
sathcooperation It says "Not compatible with 64 bit?"

aok_lover For all people who are saying that MPS 2.0 isnt working on Windows 7:

Information is taken from forums at http://aok.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/aokcgi/display.cgi?action=ct&f=4,40000,0,20

I am using Windows 7 64 Bit. How do I install Mod Pack Studio?

Mixon Dixon put this perfectly. MPS uses a 16-bit installer, which 64-bit no longer supports. Your only hope would be to install a 32-bit version of Windows (2000 or up) on a virtual machine (my recommendation: VirtualBox).

To use MPS with a virtual machine (starting when your 32-bit OS is installed on it):
1) Set the virtual machine to use the real disk drive.
2) Install AoK, TC, and any patches you may need.
3) Download and install MPS on your virtual OS.
4) Now you have an option. Either play AoK on the virtual OS and use MPS with it (slightly buggy, but easy), OR
5) Using the permanent install trick, copy the modded DRS files on the virtual machine to your real AoK data folder. (If you need help doing that, just email me).
I know the last step isn't fun, so I may make a utility to make it easier.

da_real_deal Really, none of this helps me.Everytime I open the MPS 2.0,it says you have to have either AOK or AOK:TC installed.I have both installed, and i don't know why it doesn't work.Really,it should state before dowloading that it only works if you ONLY
have AOK on it. Don't get your hopes too high up for you people that have TC.
kuncheknk returns error 216 , is this not compatible with a 64-bit Windows 7 ? :S please help
