This is the final version of the Wooden Gate Template. Due to several e-mails I received taliking about bugs in the map, I decided to fix it. Now it doesn\'t have any bugs and features Wooden Gates (Sea Gates on land) in several different terrains, except for forests.

An excellent example of a template, if your looking for wooden gates on land this is the one to download.

fishface60 Most useful utility I have ever downloaded, does this version have the Gates as GAIA? The last one worked perfectly apart from the fact that I could not have GAIA gates, just players, I am making a Helm's Deep scenario, you are in the credits, but I had to revert to tricks to get GAIA Wooden gates.

This utility is extremely useful, and unlike most of the utilities on the Blacksmith, this one one is one that needs to be kept because it involves map-copying "beta-units." Cesar's "Wooden Gate Template" has the "Sea Gate" unit, that is, well, a wooden gate, placed on all the games terrian, facing in all the four gate directions. With this, you can apply it to your scenarios and do not need to remove bridges under an area of shallows, simply map-copy the gate on the terrain you want, and facing in the direction you want. And you're done! Furthermore, these gates are perfectly aligned with the game's unit tiles! Other "Sea Gate on Land" templates I have seen have the gate placed between tiles, so that when you use it, it will never be equally aligned with your walls, Cesar's are!

Additional Comments: This utility, along with crasher's "MAP TRICKS" and Enrique Orando's "New Units and Objects Template," is a must-have and keep for any scenario designer! This utility easily earns a 5.0.

On a side note to the potentail downloader: The scenario does reminde you to Rename your gates into "Wooden Gates," but I later realised that the game's engine sees "Open Gates" and "Closed Gates" as different units, thus when the gate opens, the name changes back to "Sea Gate." The solution is to loop a seperate trigger that will change the gate's name. Definately worth the download.

Im making a mot and bailey castle (from william C's time, (1066)) scenario and naormal gates look pants i mean stone and palisades!!!

Fus1on_Patoo1 Hi, im new to this stuff. I made a scenario and i downloaded this template and put it in my scenario. And im just wondering how do i get the wooden gate to my actual scenario that im making? Is it possible? Thanks for yall's help. Sincerly The Noob>>> Patoo

Fus1on_Patoo1, click 'Map Editor', 'Edit Scenario', The Template, 'OK', 'Terrain', 'Map Copy', 'Copy Selected Map Area', mark the area you want to copy with the pointer, click again 'Copy Selected Map Area' and 'Go to Copy Mode' appears, click 'Menu', 'Edit Scenario', your scenario, 'OK', 'Terrain', 'Map Copy' and place the gates.
cataphract_fan I have a question which file do you save this on to use it? Do you go to the Scenario file and save it there?
