This campaign was used as entry for AoK Heaven's Pretty Town Contest. Enjoy scouting the city, or use it as inspiration for your own scenarios.
-History section explaining how Minas Dragon grew out from a small settlement to the huge city it is now.

-Minas Dragon is not a dead city, you'll see villagers doing their job, guards patrolling, merchants trading, etc.
Please don't forget that this map has no storyline, and is not meant to be played as a usual campaign, you can only scout it.
For people with lower computer specs then P2 350Mhz, 64Ram I recommend not to download this map due to lag.

This was a great map, it fills up the whole map, mind you it was on normal or mediam size. This is a big city, complete with Farming towns and loads of tricks. It's perfect for enspiring new designers to get going. Infact this map inspired me to start designing maps again after i stoped for 2 months.
It's more of a mass collection of eye candy , rather than a campaign.
I really loved this scenario! Its a great virson of many cizilastions that had mashed together a great city! The spanish wonders are what really had impressed me, I've never seen a spanish wonder used in such a great way!
Playability:4, You could have a little more control over the missionary but its all great!
Balance:3, It could've been a little bit harder, like there was a battle or something like that to cross or a path into a vital part of town was blockde and you had to find a way around it, but still a great job!
Creativity: 5! Amazing, I have no idea how you cme up with this but it certainly is amazing! VERY creative!
Map Design:5! Its awesome! You leave one fantastic area of Minas Dragon and enter another wonderful spectacular place! The river is highly detailed and I loved every little bit of it!
Story:4, VERY convincing story! Magnificent!

Minas Dragon, a city in the realm of Eriador, was founded in 900 B.C. by the Gaul and changed hands often since then. Be prepared for a variety of building styles.
This is the submission to the Pretty Town Contest by AoK Dragon. The other contestents that posted to the blacksmith are Inquizative's Gaiku Airashii and Lighthouse Creation's Avaris.
The contest's rules were made by Fozby, who organized the contest. Warfare was not allowed, no music, no bitmap, no Modpacks. The map could be any size, preferably under giant, small and any size town, which doesn't have to be the whole map. You could have used more than one town, but one had to be pretty. There should be a unit to explore the map, but only for the parts the designer wants to be minded. Instructions like "Follow the paved road" or flags etc. were possible. The towns would have been judged entirely on aesthetics, triggers themselves won't have necessarily added to the score, but what they do would have been. Last not least, no cut-scenes, the scenario would have been rated down for cut-scenes. Everything else was optional. The playable part would be reduced to exploring a map with no enemies, which had as only object the creation of a pretty town. This is a city tour, were unlike as in a cut-scene you can get controll of your unit.
PLAYABILITY: The worst part and no fun at all. Most of the time you don’t know where to go, as only some signs give directions and even then, you’re not told in which order to exlore the city. It was not good to have control of the missionary all the time without a tour guide. It was annoying to do long rides between stone and palisade walls, from where you have to take the same ride back, as there were no gates in the walls. It is very unlikely that the people would cut their defenders off of supplies. Because of the long rides in order to explore the whole map, I finally changed game speed to fast, avoiding marco polo, fearing an announced computer crash. The lack of a guide and directions are resulting in a bad pace and apart of admiring the design with Marco Polo over and over again, there is no replay value. 3
BALANCE: This category is related to the skill of the player and is somehow subjective, as the reviewer rates, if the scenario was too hard/easy to complete for him or if the scenario was well balanced. You can not loose a city tour, as you have no enemies, but the review system demands a rating here, even though there is no balance. The category is rated by taking the average of the four other categories. If the numerical value has a fraction, the next higher figure will be the rating for balance. 5
CREATIVITY: The creativity is the best part of this scenario. The map is filled with buildings, I have not seen before and the quality of the map copying used is high. You go on a boat tour and can look at the city with the eyes of a donkey. 5
MAP DESIGN: Rodrigo has, shows a very individual style of design, which is great to look at. Even though the town is not pretty in the sense of beautiful, the map design is far above average and this is what is rated at the blacksmith. The spanish wonders are mostly well placed. Some areas are unrealistic, boars between noisy, working people, like tombstones on a path or between fields and the city center looks like a carpet market with craters. On the other hand Rodrigo has a good use of map copy for a whole range of new buildings, which are realistic and great to look at. 5
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: There is no story and few instructions. The history section explains why you find the mixture of buildings, as the city was ruled by Gaul, Celts, Romans, Gorgorothians, Francs and Spanish. You get an informative author’s description page and a scout section, which can not replace in game instructions. 4-
- Under author's description is mentioned: "Please don't forget that this map has no storyline", I don't recall that stories were forbidden by the contest rules.
Overall: Download this city tour. You would have to look at many utilities, to have as many new ideas for map design, as this scenario is providing.
