The “Eternal Conflict Chapter I” by King_Kong is a solid and well design campaign. The game had lots of potential, but in the end when the game is completed it pretty obvious that this campaign could have been much more enjoyable.

The playability was pretty good and King_Kong has done a nice job with the triggers. However, in this campaign we are prompted with three paths to choose but unfortunately all the paths are long and things do get a little repetitive. I think more action or cut scenes along the journey would have spiced up the quality.

The balance in my opinion is on the hard side. After playing this game for a while I found two ways to progress through the campaign. The first way is to play slowly and kill each enemy and wait for the hero to heal and repeat the process until you are cleared. This will indeed take a lot of time and isn’t all that fun. The second way was a non-stop run avoiding all the enemies along the way. The second way is indeed quicker but prevents you from having the pleasure of killing the enemies. In short, the balance is a little too hard.

The creativity in this campaign is above average. The player can make a couple of decisions in the beginning as to which path he will choose to advance forward in his quest. In this RPS, the standard features such as talking to people and visiting home.

The map was nice to look and I appreciate the effort that the author invested here. I feel the map design could have been better if the paths had been a little wider and we could have seen more of the maps instead of being limited to the paths.

Before the game start we do receive some information about the story and as to why the hero must do what he has to do. Unfortunately, the story isn’t developed through the campaign, which is regrettable. The instructions were good and sufficient to complete the campaign, so in this area I was pretty satisfied.

Overall, “Eternal Conflict Chapter I” is a decent campaign which is enjoyable and falls short of a 4.0 average, but it is still not a bad choice if you are looking for a short and solid campaign. Enjoy.
laz123 It's good but quick, and no slaughtering.
