Gaiku Airashii created
by Inquizative
Gaiku Airashii isn't exactly a campaign in the normal sense of the word. Gaiku Airashii is a "Pretty Town" contest entry.
There are informative instructions and conversations through out this scenario. If you'd like to
use the map and city for RPG's or whatever suits you, feel free to remove the
triggers and play around a bit with the civilizations. If you do use the
Gaiku Airashii base map and city design, I only ask that you mention it in the
credits of your readme file. :)
FEATURES
- 8 realistic regions
- Learn more about the city by "talking" to certain residents
- Guided tour in an actual "tour wagon"
- 3 Traditional Koi Ponds
- Sounds pulled directly off your copy of the AoK:TC Cd
- Street Signs that guide you in the correct
directions when you are traveling by foot
- Money System for "buying" items or
gaining entry to key areas
*note* Due to the fact that the contest
required minimal files, there is not a bitmap attached.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
The campaign is in an executable file. All you have to do is accept the
default directory (for a standard c:\ installation) and the campaign will
install. There are 3 sounds needed for this campaign:
byzantin.mp3
chinese.mp3
japanese.mp3
Please copy these files from your AoK CD to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires
II\Sound\scenario

Maltese Knight - The campaign should have extracted to your default Age of Kings directory in the campaign folder. It'll be called "Gaiku Airashii". Is anyone else having problems??? |

Yes, I am having the same problem. I extracted the file to my Aok folder but it doesn't show up! And therefore and can't install it. |

***Revised Installation Instructions***
I realize now that my installation instructions were quite unclear, so hear goes:
Please save the .ZIP file to any temp deirectory you may have (c:\Windows\Temp, C:\Temp or even c:\windows\temporary internet files\). After the .ZIP file is in the designated Temp directory, double click it. You will see a file called GA.exe (short for Gaiku Airashii). You can double click it while still in the Zip file or you can extract it also to your Temp drive and then double click it. After the executable has started, you will see it is set to save to the default C:\Program Files\Age of Kings II directory. Keep the default and click next. After the files are copied, you can exit the installation program. You should now se a file in your campaign directory called Gaiku Airashii Final. - Inquizative |

King25 - You can go into the scenario editor and change the trigger timing. For every even/action, there is a fairly easy to understand description of the trigger. If the trigger is set for, say, 30 seconds, retime it to 15 or something that suits your needs. 8^) |

I downloaded it, and I was very impressed! The only annoying thing was that the "Chinese" and "Japanese" sounds was used very frequently, driving me NUTS! Well, you can chhose not to use the sounds.... My first city is comin' up for download soon... I wanna thank the maker of this scenario for the first spark of inspiration, but after that... All my work!
Keep ur eyes open for it!

Thank you SwedeKnight for the compliment. Although this was made some four years ago, it's cool to see there are still designers out there willing to give it a chance and feedback. I hope your new project goes well!
