The Conquerors 1.0c |
One of my better games but still awful compared to most of you guys... It's a black forest and I'm linte_macar. Farely short game, around 40:xx.
I would like to hear some advice from you guys mostly on:
1. Villager managment, where to put them when and how many should I have by ??:xx?
2. Army composition, what units should I be massing?
And if there is anything else you could help me with I would like that in a non-flamable way :) |

Well, first of all, it took about 8 seconds before you did anything at all, need to work on that. You need to get the cout moving a little faster next time as well, send one vil on wood, not all three on 2 houses. |

Then, all of them on sheep? Get at least one (I have 2-3) on wood so that you have some for buildings. Still, having a lot of food for vils is good, although you do need wood to build houses... Also, make sure you watch your scout, hotkey him, I usually do Ctrl-1 for it, 'cause when you found those sheep near warrior68's TC...well, you should have had those moving immediately. And send the sheep back the way you know, don't scout with them, I know, I know, some people like to, but they're better for food. When you built your bax, why so far away? Won't help you if you're attacked and all your units, and units in training, are far away from your town center. Scout! Scout! Scout! I'm just telling you that your scout was sitting around doing nothing forever, send him out to find what the enemies building, info wins the war. Especially when you're moving men in, if you can't see far enough ahead...you're dead. And then he resigns...and you don't find out what els he had built! Once you castle, and monk, those are free men there! Lots and lots of free men! But you couldn't see that. Scout! And keep producing vils, you need them, your farms kept dieing, you can queue them in the mill you know. The thing is, you're very fragmented, like, lots of food, but you keep building farms, little wood, but you have choppers all over the place, just not concentrated, don't build a new lumber camp if you don't need it, that's 100 wood right there. Some gold, but no stone, you'll need that when you castle and the build towers, which are useful without walls. He built a wall, right near you're archery, once again, SCOUT! Fast forward to your attack, you're very lucky, if that guy had attacked your ram with one archer...well, with only 10hp left, it'd be a sorry ram, and dead too. Why'd you build the castle there? There was no point for it begin there, should have had it at the front lines, with more vils building it. I feel I should mention at this point, that mangonal fire kills friendlies too, watch out, you murdered your ram with it. Over all...you have a lot to learn. Check out http://oekfastcastle.4t.com/ |

It's too bad that game was over a month ago huh? Well, I've already applied all the beginner comments you made to my game. As for this old-school black forrest; I'm done with it. Im used to Arabia, where you almost always HAVE to explore with sheep.
But thanks anyway. |
