Its been a while since this map was sent in, and no one has reviewed it. And as I liked it, and wanted to review it, here it is
Playability: 4
I really enjoyed playing this scenario, but I found a bug, that was pretty irritating. It wasn't possible to win. I defeated the natives, but nothing happened. I had to type in "i r winner" to finish it!
Even with this bug, I highly reccomend this scenario, even if it hasn't got an extraudinary full story as many other scenarios and campaigns
You can feel free to make up your own story about the spanish lord in this scenario.
Balance: 2
It was easy to win the scenario. The enemies where all too weak. I think you could put in more soldiers (or villagers) for them to make it harder
You dont start off with many units. You have 1 Scout, 1 monk, 1 missionary , the Spanish Lord and 6 villies. But you have many buildings. It makes it easier to train up your army quick
Also, the enemy doesn hardly no harm. I could win the scenario after one attack on each camp, almost the same soldiers in both of them.
You didn't need the walls, as the your enemies didn't attack you.
Your allies where pretty strong too, making it even easier
I'm sorry, but this part only gets 2. Because its all too easy
Creativity: 3
I really enjoyed the scenario, and I think its not just an usuall one. It has got a story you build up mostly yourself, as I've said before, and pretty well made map.
There where some places on the map you could take control of, like hidden mines, and stuff.
The map looked pretty realistic, with the river between the cliffs, and mixed terrain. The camps where good made up, and not too much recourses to the player either. Though, you could make the player start in Feudal Age, to make it harder
Map Design: 4
The map was very well made. It wasn't cluttered with huge ammounts of flowers or stuff, and looked pretty natural. There where plenty of elevations and mountains, rivers and roads, all making good sence, and all looked very good
But there is something missing. Like the dot over the I, or something. I cant give it 5. It needs more perfection then
Story/Instructions: 3
There wasn't much of a story here. Only a simple background, that you arrived, from where, what your goal is, and who your allies and enemies are. There are also some hints telling of sacred relics and a hidden mine.
But this scenario is a bit unique, compared to most other scenarios and campaigns I've played
You're free! You can set up the story yourself.
But it could need some comments, like when you find a relic or defeat an enemy, and a bit clearer objectives, like How to win
Additional Comments:
A pretty unique map
Its really worth playing, and I'm surprised no one reviewed it earlier
Very good to be your first triggered scenario
Good luck in the future![Edited on 08/19/06 @ 10:27 AM]

You updated your submission with the same .SCX dated April 9. I sent you an email four days after your update which probably got lost in a spam filter but I hope you read this. If you still have your scenario with "triggers and a better storyline" as you wrote please update again. |
