Introduction
After about 1.5 years, i took up this campaign from the "Tired of Creat" folder. I had created 2 Scenarios, but i was tired of designing and i begun to play multiplayer. But one day, i felt that i wanted to design again, so i created a 3rd scenario for the Campaign and fixed all bugs in the two others. Finally, i had created one of the best Campaigns i had ever made ( I have also made two other called "William Wallace-The Adventure rated 4.0 and The story about La Hire"
Story:
In decades, Humans have searched for the Ring. We dont know alot about it... not more than the old bedtime-stories tells us. Its said to look like a ring, not special, but it has powers that we can not imagine. Whit the ring, any man could turn into a monster, a man whit the power to do anyting. But after a long time when man had almost forgotten it, some strange power made everyone remember it... And one man, Siegfried, took the mission to search for it... But many men want it, and who will find it first?
Feautures:
-This is a Rpg-Rps-Build and Destroy-scenario
-Around 100-150 triggers in each scenario, and that pretty much for a Build and Destroy.
-Good looking map design and eye-candy and realistic nature design
-Guide to all scenarios in their Hints-section if you get stuck
-The DEMO got 3.8 rate, and this is the full version
Enjoy this scenario!!!
It will have a sequel in Empire Earth or Age Of Mythology, but i guess it will be EE. I would like to have a reweiw on this, and PLEASE POST YOUR COMMENTS! I would like to know what you think...
Thank you! |

Overall: 3.6
Playability: I feel the playability in this campaign on a whole was average. The beginning of scenario set you up well for the rest of the campaign. Scenario 3, was probably the most fun to play overall. The campaign wasn’t boring but it wasn’t addictive. It was enough to make you play to the end of the campaign at least once is what needs to be said here.
Balance: This campaign’s balance on the whole was good, I say on the whole because in scenario 2 Siegfried was a little too strong. In general the balance was well implemented and was one of the good features of this campaign. It was above average but had both its hard points and easy points.
Creativity: Creativity wise, I would say this was ok it included a few interesting points into the campaign but I felt it could have done with a few more to bring it up to the level 4. An example being when I took control of the city in scenario 1 and was meant to be attacked. It didn’t prove as much as a challenge as I had hoped for.
Map Design: This was one of the alluring features of ‘ The Legend About The Ring ’ It was well constructed and time had been taken here to get the map looking good. It was good to have a beautiful map to play across. To bring this up to a five it would need a few interesting focal points, maybe through use of eye candy or spending more time on the water parts of the map’s in this campaign.
Story / Instructions: I found the story easy enough to understand but it had its drawbacks. It reminded me a little too much of Indian Jones’s. The spelling in this campaign was noticeable and could do with changing. This didn’t stop me understanding what I was meant to do and so it didn’t lower the Playability. One other observation I made was that I was meant to be looking for stone and when I found a large pile and approached it nothing happened, I played on regardless however.
Overall: To sum ‘ The Legend About The Ring ‘ up I would say it was a worthwhile campaign and had a good start. If you can get past the spelling mistakes you’ll most likely enjoy this campaign.
The author isakmalm, should be congratulated on his map design for managing to fit all he wanted to in his map and keeping it interesting. A good campaign with a few bugs is probably the best way to look at it. |
