Map Design5.0
Playability: 5
Addictive game, suggest everyone having a good 3 hours freetime to try it. You are never safe, dangers come suddenly and very suprisingly.

Balance: 5
Each civ is fun to play, very well balanced, specially at the start at low kill achievements.

Creativity: 5
Lots of idea, and I guess a lot of work, thx.

Map Design: 5
The size of the map is used maximally. The journey is really long, and never boring, on very versatile beautiful terrain.

Story/Instructions: 4
Some more instruction, when u can get higher level, or how to get the special heros, but trully you can learn it after a while. Otherwise the game talks for itself.

Additional Comments:
Some other map? Thank you for this one!

The Reckoning is a multiplayer RPG map created by Anzac_ and released in 2005. It is designed for between 1-4 players and revolves around for escaped slaves trying to get revenge on their former master; Lord Skarrs.

Playability: 4
I found the scenario rather enjoyable. I played with three players and it was fun exploring the land and upgrading your characters. I like the free-roam aspect. You can explore the world and do quest and small task to upgrade your character before going off to find Lord Skarrs. You also have the choice to go around the map as a team or split up and try to tackle it on your own and see who can do the best. It was good fun but there were a few things the personally effected the score for me. This was mainly the poor map design and difficulty of the scenario which made it slightly less entertaining and for me, lowered the score.

Balance: 4
The balance is generally good. There are some easy parts but there are some very difficult parts to the scenario. Throughtout your travels you are almost constantly attacked by Skarrs soldiers or The Undead. Whilst most of these soldiers are simple weak foot soldiers such as militias or Archers, they can sometimes swarm you, and sometimes there are stronger soldiers that also attack you at points. Another thing that makes the scenario slightly more difficult is the sheer lack of elevation on the map. This gives you no elevation bonus against enemies, especially stronger ones. You start as a simple Scout Cavalry which is a weak unit, and probably the weakest cavalry unit, even though you are a cavalry unit, elevation is still useful, especially against other cavalry units that are much stronger than you. Overall the scenario is not impossible but slightly unbalanced at various points.

Creativity: 5
This is probably the scenarios strongest point. There are alot of creative ideas in the RPG. The storyline itself is great and has lots of plotlines and cool ideas. There are also some creative RPG elements such as staying at a monastery to train up, and various tasks to do in order to upgrade your character. There are some creative challenges in the scenario. I also like the main part of Chapter Two which is about finding the relics of the Gods, its quite a nice idea. Overall the scenario is pretty creative and lots of great ideas that make it a very good RPG game. I must say that I've never played a multiplayer RPG quite like this before.

Map Design: 3
Unfortunately, the map design is where the the scenario fall short. it is the weakest part of this whole scenario. From my personal prospective people who make multiplayer maps never focus on map design which I find very disappointing. Map design is one of my favorite parts of a scenario and its what personally keeps me interested in them. In The Reckoning the map design is quite poor. It is clear that the designer has put a bit of effort into the map. There is a fair use of GAIA objects to add eye-candy and some triggers are used for effects, such as the damage object trigger to show buildings on fire. However, it is clear that there is little to no attempt at terrain mixing. There are big blocks of one terrain, then another big block of a different terrain. This makes the map look unrealistic and unprofessional. Also as I stated before there is a lack of elevation which makes the map look flat and very unrealistic. Overall a lot more effort is needed to be put into the map. With a good map design I would personally rate this whole scenario alot higher, because for me map design makes a scenario more realistic, professional and engages me in the scenario alot more.

Story/Instructions: 4
The story is great and very well written. I like the plot and the whole idea of slaves getting revenge on the Day of Reckoning. The story is great and helps engage the player in with the map alot more. However unfortunately the instruction could be alot better. Whilst the main instructions are shown, there are no hints to help you along the way. For example, one of the first objectives is "Find King Alfonso" but there needs to be some hints as to where King Alfonso is located, otherwise the player is running around the whole map trying to find them.

Additional Comments:
Overall The Reckoning is a good RPG scenario, and a great way to kill a couple of hours with your mates. However it does have its floors and could have a fair few improvements.

Well Done
