Version: The Conquerors

Nothing special about this, just a map with eye candy aplenty on it including:

* a large city with:

- an "Anglican" cathedral
- An Inn style from T.K.B.M.
- An irrigated farm field within
- A lighthouse island
- Plenty of retagged stuff

* A huge mountainside that:
- Looks realistic (has trees andocks scattered over varied terrain)
- Mountain Ranger Buildings (an inn, ranger stations, etc.)
- specials (see for yourself)

Nothing on this map that wasn't copy/pasted or plainly built there (tell ya, took a helluva lot of time creating that mountain stone by stone). Tell me what you think and e-mail me @:

AOE Inferno Hey Heropatrick i checked ur map and it's pretty good , you could make the city bigger and but some more trees around the houses and stuff, you know? and some more eye candy like torches and plants. Keep on going with the maps :)

Playability: 3

I enjoyed playing this scenario, even though there is no fighting, challenge, or even events. I liked exploring the level, seeing the eye candies, and reaching my destination. It should have had more events, maybe even some obstacles, challenges etc. Just looking at the map alone was only enough for a 3.

Balance: 5

This has no fighting, therefore is like a cutscene (i.e. automatic 5 balance)

Creativity: 3

I like these type of maps. The map design was creative, with some nice map copy features. The mountains were very nice, the use of rocks + trees as a terrain looks good and is quite creative. The lack of triggers, no 'click to talk' etc limits your creativity mainly to what you've done with the map though - some more dialogues, events, a story etc would help a lot.

Map Design: 4

The map design is a mix. Generally good eye candy and creative scenes joined together by very average looking terrain brush land. For example you begin standing on a beautiful tree-lined path, but the forest on the sides of it is solid forest terrain with a thick, uniform bamboo strip. Use the tiny brush and make it more random.

The town looks very nice - the flowers at the entrance; the Anglican Cathedral and irrigated fields are nice.

The transition to snow is very poor, don’t mix palm trees with snow pines, it just looks wrong. The snow-grass terrain should have been used between the snow and grass, instead there is a strip of desert looking terrain.

The Ranger Station's are really nice, and generally speaking the paths through the mountains, are neat, with many side areas to explore. We seldom see paths through mountains because they are often made with the large obstructions of cliffs and mountains, rocks are a great way to allow for this terrain to be explorable.

Story/Instructions: 3

The story is almost non-existant, with the goal being to get to the end of the map. The instructions are is not utilized at all really, and the goal is not very clear.

Overall: 3.6

An interesting map, good for designers to take a look at for eye candy ideas, but not of much interest to the average player. Would be better with more attention to the story and playablity areas.
tyler_t_rocks Whell to say the truth i didnt relly care to much for it except for the big dock.The rest of the stouf i could easly get from a modpack.(not trying to be mean) =)
