Battle of Agincourt

Author File Description
File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Fixed Force
Number of players: 5
Please note that the scenario may be unbalanced. I have tried testing it on myself but my testers weren't nice enough to feedback.

My AoK is kind of messed up so I'm giving up on Map designing until I find my lost AoK CD. Please feel free to edit this scenario to fix bugs or fix unbalanced sides.

Please send any feedbacks or if your interested in helping me solve the bug with AoK, please send an e-mail to

Map Design4.0
This scenario was tested multiple times by myself, Powery, and several other players on Gameranger. We have tried a full 5, and 1v1.
Playability: 2
While being moderately enjoyable the scenario has major flaws which inhibit the enjoyment gained. While the inital sounds were a good idea they overlap, showing poor timing. This could be fixed with little effort and raise the score somewhat.
The majority of the failings here will be explained in the next category.

Balance: 1
The map is extremely unbalanced. While it has had minimal testing the French easily obliterate the English. The palisade walls are ridiculous, two hits from some of the heroes will destroy them.
The english longbowmen have equal range to the french crossbowmen.
The English have fewer units, and have lower HP.
The french have more heroes, and do not lose the game when all of them die, while England loses if Knig Henry V dies.
The claimed 'morale system' does not exist.

Creativity: 3
The Idea of delegating units to additional players is intelligent, and improves the gameplay slightly when used. However, the game is a simple fixed force.
The display of competency using triggers: the naming of heroes, a victory for the English if Henry V is allowed to reach the French end of the map raises the score to a 3.

Map Design: 4
The map's strongest point, an accurate recreation of a battlefield. This is somewhat soured by the ability to remove units from the battle due to a small gap between border trees, and a lack of elevation, which would assist the English and be historically accurate.
Speaking of which, it starts with the English in a jumbled position, rather than Stakes in front of the Archers, on the wings, and men at arms in the centre. This realistic position would encourage the english player to defend.

Story/Instructions: 2
No story included. Instructions were minimal and unclear.

Additional Comments:

While the author states it is unbalanced, this simply has not been tested properly. With some minor Adjustments such as -5 attack points for all french units the scenario would be greatly improved. I do not consider this finished.
Map Design5.0
Playability: 2
This scenario is fun only when you play the French and like easy victories, or simply like to see how units slaughter each other in a beautiful environment.

Balance: 1
The English can win only when the French player is a retard, or if player 1, against all odds, as it can be only discovered when looking at triggers, moves Henry V to the northernmost part of the map, and even though this would be told in the instructions I find it very unbalanced when the English wouldn't have to kill the French at all, just move Henry through the wide battlefield to the spot.

Creativity: 3
Even though there are just two sides, the scenario can be played with up to 5 players and player 1 and 2 can freely choose their teammates who then receive certain types of troops from either player 1 or from player 2 depending on who they team up with.
Also the units are moved in realistic positions instead of holding the tile on which the unit is placed in the editor.
Some visual design tricks can be found as well.
Also the game has been made to last longer with increased health of units.

Map Design: 5
This section makes me sad as alot of effort has been put to the map to make it look realistic. This maybe at the cost of everything else.

Story/Instructions: 2
Even though it is a historical battle, the background story is told nowhere.
There are no other instructions than some hints and some of them are false. The most important, victory conditions are nowhere to be found.
