I got the idea for this mod from the one Saul The Great did a while back. Crappy grass to roads i believe. It didnt have roads on snow so i added it to this. It will replace dirt 2 and snow dirt with road. I hope you guys enjoy!!
This modpack is very nice (especially if this is your first, am I right?). It merely changes dirt 2 terrain to road1 terrain. But it actually does quite a bit. I tried it out in the editor and I noticed a few things after laying out the buildings and all:
1) This road tile mod is good for city building because it automatically places a radius of road terra beneath your buildings (saving you a bit of time in the editor, I'd imagine). It also makes some buildings good better, like the house, the market, the barracks, the TC (it especially enhances the look of the TC).
2) The road tile is not so good for country scenes. Lets say you want to make a little village for example. The houses and the mills and dark age buildings all have road tile beneath it (which imho doesn't fit those buildings).
3) Also, when a dead farm expires, it leaves behind a big patch of road. I'd say that's a little unnatural, wouldn't you?
4) Also, it deprives you of dirt 2, which is perfect for country path building and wilderness trails and such.
I give this a 4.0 because it is useful, somewhat practical, especially if you are going for a city-ish look, but it tarnishes the "out-in-the-open" country-ish feeling the game can also have. It also changes the feel of RM playing, which has a positive effect, I think...
