Basically you take control of Rome in the first scenario, and must fight against the barbarians who strangely are the Vikings not the Goths. This was a fictional campaign if you have not already guessed.

Playability: The playability was bad you basically just had an overwhelming force throughout the entire campaign. Units in the first scenario keep randomly appearing and disappearing as if by magic. The campaign seemed dull and the lack of change in missions lowered the fun factor for the player. Try adding optional objectives or making the objectives different otherwise the player will soon get bored and cease playing through your campaign.

Balance: The campaigns balance was not good, you started off with almost two times the number of forces as the enemy and if you attack straight away you can expect to win a campaign inside 7 minutes. Don’t get me wrong players want to win but they also want a challenge, it makes the victory all the more worthwhile. Try giving the computer more forces or even better take units off player 1’s force reducing lag as well.

Creativity: The campaign’s creativity was lacking. It featured disappearing units but this was a bug as the author has said himself in an update he will fix the problem. Try fixing bugs before you release a campaign. It was basically just overwhelm the enemy in as little time as possible, which in my mind did not seem very creative.

Map Design: The map contained very little mainly Oak Forest trees added on using large brush sizes (try using small brush sizes it takes longer but is worthwhile) It did not contain anything else but your army and the enemies army and base. This was very dull and trying to find the enemy travelling over a terrain of nothing was not much fun at all! Spending longer time on the map is an important asset and can help create a good scenario/campaign.

Story/Instructions: There was a limited story in the first mission you were against barbarians and in the second you were fighting the other side of Rome. I think the author got this idea from the Attila the Hun campaign, which did not make it seem any better. The instructions were few and far between, you were told to kill all enemies or kill the enemy castle, but no reason as to why killing that castle would cause the enemy to loose. Spending more time giving instructions and an interesting story would greatly benefit any scenario or campaign.

Overall: Sadly lacking a story. This campaign simply failed to impress or keep the player interested. If you’re looking for a good or mediocre campaign look elsewhere.
LoRd_YuRi_NiNjA BrandNewCar: This is original AOK, so he can't have got the idea from the Attila the Hun campaign (which wasnt in original AOK!!! So shut up jacka$s!
