King Wilhelm I

Author File Description
steffenlaursen
File Details
Version: The Conquerors
Style: Mix
Number of scenarios: 8
====Update April 1st====
This file should only be downloaded for nostalgic reasons or the like.

The next version of this campaign is forming quickly, and I recommend waiting for that rather than downloading this...

Thanks to all that has downloaded, though.

====Update March 14th====
I know... I've been lazy.

I decided to do a totally new campaign (almost)

I am now at scenario 3. The first scenario is almost like in the first version, but with some improvements (or changes at least). Scenario 2 turned out pretty well. Scenario 3 is barely started yet.

Will be up in about 1½ months, I guess.

====Update November 25th=====
I'm doing a "King Wilhelm revisited" which features:

New map designs (I am kind of new to it yet, so the first ones didn't turn out too well). I'm including times of the year in this. I especially like my autumn landscapes.

Less bugs (hopefully)

At least one totally new scenario, replacing scenario 4 (which was kinda... you know if you played it). I might also add some more, as there are quite a few countries I could include in different spots. Spain, Norway, Persia for instance. I might add these later if someone likes the campaign.

Severe improvements in dialogues, "historical information", cutscenes and game balance.

So watch out for KW Revisited.

==============

=====Update====
A newer version where the previous bugs have been removed (and a few new improvements have been added) is now uploaded
===============

This is a fictional yet realistic campaign where you play as a Captain in the German army. You are quickly promoted and must defeat several enemies for your King. His desire for power goes out to the very corners of the then-flat earth, but I might choose to kill him if I think there are too many scenarios.

I can't really tell you any more, cause the storyline is essential to my campaign, and the intention was to surprise you now and then.

I can say, though, that I have done my best to put you in unusual situations, such as relying solely on game meat in one scenario.

There is everything from a "unite your home country" type of game similar to the first scenario in Ghengis Khan, to a death match-ish regicide game.

When you unzip the file, everything in the folder "King Wilhelm I of Germany" must be moved to your Age of Empires directory, from there it should find its way by itself. Thanks for taking your time to download. :-)

Steffen

PS: It might be a good idea to change the speed to slow during the speeches...

Oh, and btw. the AI (or whatever you want to call it... it's really simple) was made by Dr. Mabuse.

Or that is... he gave me some examples that I copy/pasted and altered to fit the individual scenarios.

I really stink at writin AI script 8-)
Caeser89 Can I assume that the storyline which you are keeping "secret" is the Unification of the German States?

You can assume that... but unfortunatley, it's wrong :)

Yes, the German states are unified (if you complete the first scenario), but as I said, there are 7... make that 8 scenarios inside.

I have tried to focus on charachters, not so much on the history-story-line-part.

And a couple of bugs that I have fixed and will upload some time soon (got some AI that must be done as well): The relic victory in scen. 1; the placing of the port scen. 1&2 (bad one, I know... now it's just next to the city); you now have more resources in Regicide; and some testing stuff that I forgot to remove from Through Enemy Lands.

I assume I uploaded too quickly, sorry for any inconvenience :(
EmperorJ Hey I downloaded your campaign, and it was hard...almost impossibly hard even in Standerd mode. Also there were some bugs. In the scenario (I forget the name) with King Euric and Magallen; if you choose King Eluric's side and complete everything to the end, then he says "I'm so grateful i'll give you troops" He gave me three tarkens and then repaeted the stupid message all over again and again and again...point taken?

Another problem in the same game was how do you speak to Thedoric? I went all over his village with the general, and then finally gave up. Whats wrong?

Also in your first scenario it seems unbalenced with too little time.
Still it's good for a (did you say first time) in makeing a campaign. I'm also very new; and plan to submit my first file in a few days...
EmperorJ Duh, I forgot to read your latest comment...apoligets.
By the way, very interesting scenario, exspecially the cutscene part where Welhelm was dying...interesting. :)

Hi

To talk to Theodoric, you'll have to bring the general there and then click on T. It's a bit tricky, now that you mention it. I'll change it as soon as I get my CD back (a friend borrowed it so that he could play the campaign).

The other bug will be fixed, too.

As for difficulty... I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for playing.
laz123 Okay, in the 1st game where is the french nobleman, sieur de metz and the blue flag?
