This handy little program is the mutt's nuts. Without extracting it to a folder, I ran it from inside WinZip. It automatically found my /Savegame folder, and instantly populated the list with all my recorded games. I was enormously impressed.

It tells you the number of players, their civs, their colours, their teams, the map the game was played on, and all that in addition to providing a full chatlog. The GUI is very user-friendly, with all the information available on one screen. It works with any version of the game (even AoK 1.0, for what matters), it runs anywhere from just a single .exe, and takes up less space than the text editor I'm writing this review in. It's a nice trip down memory lane reading the chatlogs of all my old recorded games from last year. One thing I woud have liked is to report back the time of each message, but I suppose you can't have everything.

What's it's point? Aside from novelty value, it has a lot of uses. One of them is in submitting recorded games to the blacksmith, you can easily fill in the number of players and other details in the description box without having to load AoK:TC. Another thing is to identify your recorded games (by default, they receive names "RECORDED GAME - 22-FEB-2005 21`00`20.mgx", which doesn't really tell you anything). If you've got 200 recorded games in your Savegame folder, and you're looking for a specific one, this program will be more or less essential to find it.

I considered deducting a half-point because of the graphical problems I had while using it. For some reason the table on the right-hand side of the program overflows on the left, and when you scroll down using the mouse wheel it turns into a garbled mess, a problem that can only be fixed by restarting the program. But other people don't seem to be having this problem, and I'm not using WinXP (which is the platform the program was designed to run on), so here's your 5.0 rating, mawster. :)

(As an aside, did you write this program, or was it someone else? And does "ver0.2" mean this is just a beta?)
