LIGHTNING AND THUNDER
THE TEASER
This is a cutscene which will introduce you to the magnificent story of two twins, who were separated by a saxon assault on their home village in Norway around the end of the Viking era.
The final campaign will feature three fully playable scenarios - one B&D, one RPG, and one FF - and one more cutscene. I have already finished the B&D part and it is currently in the hands of skilled playtesters.
This campaign will probably be the first of its kind to feature a customized data file, which will introduce the world of AoK to a whole new set of tricks. The altered data file lies here on my (computer's) desk, but it's not needed in this cutscene, and therefore I decided not to include it with this teaser.
Enjoy this short cutscene, and don't forget to read the readme document.

Latest update: Added a .avi movie to the teaser. When compressed, the movie isn't bigger than a normal sound file (0,5 mb). A cookie to the person who first tells me where I got the sound file from. ;-) |

And I thought yellow was nice. =( Alright, I'll change it back to red, and change the color of the Grimfjell player instead.
...Red gives the game a dark atmosphere, sorry for any inconviencience, but for a time such as your story nothing should be too bright.
You could? I guess you have a bigger screen resolution than me then. Will fix that.
...I always have my screen resoloution on 800x600 or whatever it is.
That's because you played the game on 'Standard' difficulty. Computer enemies won't attack villagers when set to 'standard'. Play it again on 'moderate' or 'hard', and there shouldn't be a problem. =)
...Oops, i keep forgetting to change it :).
Okay, will do. Lately I've been very busy with L&T and playtesting a friend's work (that took almost 7 hours), but since you were nice enough to give me a review, I'll review it in a week or two.
...Thanks mate, you're a legend.
EDIT: I Have just played the third updated version. It is better. The yellow Saxons looks good, and the red disguised saxons put up against the red Village Grimfjell is perfect too. Only one problem. The disguised beserks go to run to put the banner atop the wall, but before they can get near it, the flag is already up. It doesnt look so good, so perhaps if you can be bother, to make sure the beserks get in the vicinity of the wall before the flag goes up.[Edited on 12/23/05 @ 07:07 AM]

Great cutscene!
I made some popcorn, but.. the cutscene was a little bit too short to eat it all :D
Well done!
Please please please tell me how you did the terrain change and the fogofwar reappear? |

Hey oliver, still a fantastic cut-scene! However, because I'm updating all of my reviews to include some errors in my reviews (namely the balance and story ratings) you fall short a perfect rating because of the unfinished story dilemma which I'm supposed to mark down according to the guidelines. :-( |
