The campaign consists of scenarios two and five of a cancelled project, it is a FF, and you play Sir Asterix travelling with his soldiers to find new land.
PLAYABILITY: The playability is below average; the first scenario, ‘lost land’ has long walks fighting weak jaguars. You gather more troops but can defeat the last Aztec tribes with one unit only, the Goddess of the Sun, 10’219 HP and 1’019 AP. Also the second scenario, ‘Teuton City’, starts with an uneventful walk to gather more troops, to get them you have to click the right cavalier out of six followed by the right trebuchet out of twelve. 2
BALANCE: The scenarios are far too easy playing on hard with overpowered player 1 units for the first and a helpful ally for the second scenario. 2-
CREATIVITY: The best category of the campaign, apart from the use of two Mod Packs, the trees on the jungle path were creative, good idea to keep your ally off the enemy while you do the RPS part, which had some good ideas. 3
MAP DESIGN: The first map was better; but even though it is difficult to do anything wrong with jungle, the author succeeded. No elevations, no terrain mix and that critique includes the second map where square walls and a look on the mini map confirm the under average design. 2
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: Hints, clear objectives, no story but you get at least an idea what it’s all about, “Sir Asterix and his soldiers have been traving from country to country finding new lands and redescovering some. this is there journey in the Aztec Empire”. There were too many spelling errors, the necessary hint to load Mod Pack ‘Jungle Tomb’ for the first and ‘East European Castle’ for the second scenario was missing and the author gave no credits to the creators of the mod packs. 2
SUGGESTIONS: Work on map design, balance and try a story.
IN CLOSING: Credits for Mod Packs go to Robert Lundborg for ‘Jungle Tomb v 1.2’ and to Nein Nunb for ‘East European castle v2’, I recommend the download only for those who want to see how well the Mod Pack ‘Jungle Tomb v 1.2’ fits in a jungle environment. For ‘East European castle v2’, I recommend to play Ulio by Ingo van Thiel and Ash the Avenger by Cavscout74.
