Battle Island

Author File Description
Sir Gwydor
File Details
Version: The Conquerors
Style: Fixed Force
Number of players: 1 or 2
A peaceful island is the scene for Celtic and Viking warriors to go toe-to-toe tactically. The island is an ovel with elevation on both side's starting position. Each side has an 85 unit army, which are virtually identical (see below). Rudimentary defenses (2 Watch Towers and 2 small palisade sections) are also at the army's disposal. The middle is a short trench in which the most vicious part of the melée can take place. Most of each side's back is covered by copses of oak and pine forest, but there are a couple places to escape to the beach. Several deer were calmly grazing before being disturbed by the warring forces, and they are now easy targets for the wolves who stalk behind the trees.

Note: This is my first submission. I've only had the ability to try out each side and play against the game's 'AI'. It seems fun enough, but I'd definitely appreciate any feedback from whoever tries it out.

The number of troops on each side is the same, but there are some differences in the army's composition. I was trying to make it a little more interesting, instead of two mirror-image armies going up against each other. But it could be an easy tweak for v1.1.
I also tried to set the scene as much as possible without actually naming the armies, it's just supposed to be a simple little battle tester where you can change your tactics and stuff and see what happens.
Getting a review that quickly is quite nice.
fuzzydude45 u should be glad i didnt even get a review on my first map. LOL. Ok on to the real picture, I didnt even DL this because of the bad review so i recommend you help get that review up to atleast a 3 or u wont have much poblisity for it but from what i heard u say 12 Throwing axemen and can beat 3 crossbows and 9 arbalast so thats a downfall for them maybe u should make some of the TA a different unit to even it out a bit(make the TA's the lesser amount of units in the group)
