Regain your kingdom from your evil twin. This map is lots of fun and should take one a bit to get through. Tons of triggers and new charactors. Play if you dare. Muhahahahaha |

Didn't you get the 'Man who needs a sheep' and the wrecked ship (with the frankish paladin for I.D.) in a downloaded 'mod'..?..
Jas the Mace1
Edit: Yeah I've been looking at several downloads at the blacksmith.. I think Geni.Ed2 is out as well many custom jobs..the blacksmith has more to offer than I have time to offer :~{

You want them??? Don't you recognise the man as "Old Man" from Ulio? And the shipwreck from Sabato Returns? They are beta units, not mods. Mods are annoying things you have to use special programs to run. (If you marco polo and look at the west corner you see another beta unit- a weird archer). The best way to get them is to get Geni.Ed and unlock "Beserk","Omtbo","advanced heavy crossbowman" and, if you want those strange towers, "Twal". Do this by unticking the box "Hide from Map editor".
EDIT- another useful thing Geni.Ed(2) can do is make things easier to place on the map. For my scenario I made it possible to place mountains and bamboo anywhere.[Edited on 04/16/06 @ 05:42 AM]

To Stephen Richards:
Thanks for the review...It is pretty compulsive...you just have to find out what lies beyond the next barricade...The horse hint is because you can always return infantry to the tower to heal...I think I might go back and change the victory to killing Mazell..I didn't originally do that because I wanted to force people to smash the whole map...didn't realize how anti-climatic that would make it...did you play the version with one monk or two.?..
Thanks
Jas the Mace1
Edit: I just re-submitted the ~FINAL~ version...Victory is set to kill Mazell and I deleted the town that *pops* up towards the end...And yes...I am getting ready to release the first of several of my 'Adventure Series' the first entitled Southern France (a fictional attempt to conquer the south of France during year 58 of the 100 years war)[Edited on 04/21/06 @ 01:13 AM]

Wow! This is a great scenario and its amazing its your first. I love this level because there's LOTS of smallish battles. Im probly not even half way and it's taken me around 4-5hrs (waiting for hero's to heal mostly)and im not bored yet. Great job!
PS:Was I supposed to play this from editor or from the random map game screen thing? |

to one time gamer:
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I hope you are playing the last update from 25 Apr. If not you won't get a victory by killing Mazell because that's the update(you would have to smash everything for victory) still fun though... :~)
I personally use Map editor/Campaign Editor/add game to bottom/say yes to changes/then click the Single player shield/custom game/ and go to the 'default' game (you can play all your Scn. there) but there is nothing wrong with playing a Scn. through the map editor.

A BLOODY MESS (updated review)
This scenario tells the story of Mazeon and his struggle, aided by his brothers, to claim the throne, rightfully his, from his evil twin Mazell by whom he has been imprisoned and tortured on a daily basis. It is a mix of styles - FF, RPG and, latterly, B&D. And it is some struggle!
PLAYABILITY (4)
This may only be a single scenario but once you start playing don't think you'll be getting away from it any time soon. Most likely you will be dragged into it, forced to spend countless hours in front of the screen killing an interminable number of enemies. At least that's what happened to me, even when I found it totally infuriating I still couldn't stop myself, it became strangely compulsive, perhaps because I had invested so much time in it. Since it sums up so well my own thoughts, to quote from Tanneur's unfinished review: "this is a great scenario in many aspects, it is fun to play, entertaining, demanding micromanagement and many reloads, it is challenging, annoying, frustrating, repetitive, surprising, but simply too long for the variety the game play has to offer."
BALANCE (4)
To quote from Tanneur again: "the beginning balance is a question of patience, excursions to the fridge while your heroes heal." Not just going to the fridge, I had time to defrost it and, in total, probably enough time to go to the shops and completely refill it. This was a major drawback, compounded by the fact that I played on hard which was probably not very sensible. I wouldn't recommend it. However, since I played on hard I can hardly complain that it was hard! On other levels it is correspondingly easier. Also, one can take advantage of the Standard's AI's bizarre behaviour such as marching past troops in order to destroy a house which makes life a little easier.
CREATIVITY (4)
The author demonstrated some nice touches of wit - Mazeon is first-born by 2 minutes and 37 seconds, the sign at the prison and the victory message - and the dialogue, though limited, is generally a little better than usual. The map design is good. The bodies in the river was a good little touch.
MAP DESIGN (4)
The map design is pretty good. It's a large map and the author has not neglected any section of it, even though nowhere is it outstanding. But there is much variety, the terrains are generally blended well and elevation has been used well. Despite the fact that AoK-mountains do look rather naff to my eye, they do at least create the impression of canyons.
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS (5)
There is a good story, the hints are fine (didn’t understand the one about horses though), the objective is clear and there are victory and defeat messages. I spotted a few (what I assume are) typos but no spelling mistakes so well done for that.
There is much to commend this scenario, particularly since it's the designer's first. I hope there are more to come (but it would be good if they were a little shorter). |

this is really difficult... I have only started the scenario and there are hundreds of enemies. I only get to the part where I get one badly injured unit(the brother) and then they both die easily. Is it because I'm playing on hard or I'm not bothering to wait ages for the heroes to heal themselves? |

Thanks for the comment Sword_of_STORM :~)
Near the begining you get two brothers one at a time. They should have full HPs when you get them. The Gaia units that turn to #1 are sometimes injured(Aok bug) And Yes this game has a lot of 'Heal' time. Tanneur said he edited in a monk when he replayed but it spoils some of the views. This game as intended should take multiple playing sessions. My only longer game is ASIII Doran. I don't know if playing on hard makes any difference in the injuries but if you play the wait on fast it goes quicker.
Thanks again...Hope you try again and finish |

It's sooooooooo slow in the beginning, because the heal is can't be slower, after it is playable, but i had to wait a lot to take down the soldiers, guarding the main hero! |
