The Invisibility Cloak
Have you ever wanted to create a re-named unit while in-game, but you just didn't know how? Since the "Change Object Name" effect has to select a specific unit, you can't re-name a unit that is created with triggers. Reason being, you can't select a unit that is created in-game. This method(TIC) will show you how to give the illusion of a re-named unit being created in the middle of the game. The method can be done anywhere on the map, even out in the open. And it's very convincing. So if you've search for a way to create a re-named unit while in-game, and couldn't find one, you need not look any further.
This scenario includes the method to create re-named units, and buildings(that's right, buildings) in-game. Be sure to read the instructions and trigger descriptions for some step-by-step instructions on how to perform this new trick.
Things needed to create this effect:
AoK Trigger Studio by DiGiT
AoK Editor
If you're behind, and you don't know where to get AoK Trigger Studio, visit the forums to see a thread on it.

UPDATED: The utility scenario now contains an in-game tutorial. It's a bit easier than just reading the instructions. Good luck. =) |

This is extremely useful, although it takes practice to do well. |

It is a very good idea to practice a little before using it in your project, but it's well worth it. You guys are just lucky you don't have to use the "damage building" method. That was annoying. But now that the ram method was discovered, it's actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. :-) |

I've just added an in-game tutorial, for those of you who don't like to read the instructions of Cloaking. :p jk |

The Invisibility Cloak, by newIdea, is a Utility explaining the process of how to 'create' re-named units in-game, a process which before the author's discovery was limited and tedious.
Aptly named, this utility has clear and easy to understand step-by-step instructions on how to achieve the aforementioned effects, and this, alongside a few examples of possible uses for the discovery, is precisely what one needs in order to get a feel for how to use the utility effectively. However don't expect to find an exhaustive list of ideas for the utility, as those given are exactly what is needed to excite the designers imagination.
The Invisibility Cloak is a breakthrough in Scenario Design. Since this discovery, anyone with a basic knowledge of AoK Trigger Studio - by DiGiT - can in only minutes achieve things which beforehand could have been considered nigh impossible. The fact is, that this utility brings an extremely powerful and innovative tool into the designer's arsenal, which alongside other utilities of it's kind - such as the Invisible Tile discovered by Beserker Jerker - are set to change the face of Scenario Design for a very long time.
With a brief knowledge of AoKTS, and a few minutes of experience with this tutorial, you will soon have an abundance of new ideas that you can use in your scenarios at your very fingertips.
IN CLOSING: A sure fire 5.0, this utility is a MUST for every designer.[Edited on 02/24/07 @ 03:37 AM]

I tried that and this works!
I have one question: When I tested that, there where Ram was, was now shadow, what meant that Ram was somelike removed. (And it was). Can I remove that shadow, so it doesn't show any? |

Hm, I've never had a problem with any shadows. Are you, by any chance, using an edited .DAT file. |

Sorry but I don't understand what you mean by the units ID. Do I have to go into the games data and change something? Could someone give a step-by-step on this please?
Thanks. |

The Invisibility Cloak by newIdea is a rather old utility now but it one of the most useful utilities for anyone who is scenario designing with the vanilla version of The Conquerors.
Usefulness/Novelty: 5
The point of this utility is to show of and teach people how to use The Invisibility Cloak. This is a discovery by newIdea which allows designers to create a re-named unit in-game. In the vanilla map editor there is no way of doing this, because there is no "set area" in the Change Object Name effect. This utility will re-named teach a way around this which gives the impression that a unit is being created with triggers. I know that nowadays there are easier ways to do this with Userpatch and the new AOK:HD/AoF, but back when this utility was released it was extremely useful and is still useful to people who prefer vanilla designing. I for one used this recently in my recent entry to the Minigame Competition.
Quality/Instructions: 5
The tutorial on how to use the utility is explained very simply and is easy to follow and understand. It is explained well and there is an example scenario showing how to do ti and showing you what the triggers look like. The utility will work 100% of the time and there is nothing that will crate problems for you. The only downside is that you will have to download another program to use this; Trigger Studio, but its a useful program that most designers have anyway.
Additional Comments:
A great and extremely useful utility that is recommend for anyone who is still designing with the vanilla AOK.
Thanks for such a useful trick
