This is an invasion of Southern France during year 58 of the hundred-years war. It is a B+D with RPG and FF wound up in one. You have four Hero Knights of your own as well as an established town/settlement. Lots of action and challange keeping up with defense/offense and keeping up with resources....Good Luck...you'll need it..play on moderate..
Updated 12July06 Better playability..
Thanks

Nice scenario. Very fun. I have conquered most of the bottom chunk of land below the bridge in over 2 hours. You have done well. Good job. If only there were too many units for it lags quite a bit. Cheers.[Edited on 06/13/06 @ 03:32 AM]

Thanks for your comment...for me it only lags a little at the start because of the opening battle...after that it's pretty smooth..some slower PC's may have more problems as the game is packed with enemy troops to the end to make you battle your way across France...enjoy the rest!
Thanks

I would review this, but it lags so bad at the beginning, I can't even play it, and I have a decent computer to run it on! NIce map design. though. |

To: Duskxiv
Dear Duskxiv, I am so happy that for your first ever comment/review you chose to slam my map for a 1.8 when you didn't even play it!!!
-1st You said you didn't know what 'Destroy the Strength of Bordeaux' meant and suggested that I make a trigger to 'mark' when that Obj. was accomplished....If you had played the game... that would have happened when you "DESTROYED THE TWO SIDE BY SIDE CASTLES NAMED 'THE STRENGTH OF BORDEAUX'.!!!..Same goes for why you didn't know how to achieve 'Capture Bergerac' (destroy town center) and 'finish off Royan' if you had ...YOU'D KNOW!!! You have no ~buisness~ reviewing anyone's map!!
-2nd All of the enemies are blue because they are all 'FRENCH'...You are fighting one enemy with many factions defending it. Also you are 'NOT' on an island(play it)
-3rd You're mad because the enemy has so many troops.??..it wouldn't be much fun with only 65 defenders for the whole map...("It Ain't Easy conquering France!")
-4th The map was bare??? Let's see your map.!..'cause I don't see it.!??!
-5th I chose year 58 of the hundred year's war because it's a popular theme/point in history that many are interested in...including me..if you want to see something different I suggest that 'YOU' make it.
-In closing: I suggest that you actually 'PLAY' the game you are reviewing...and maybe make your own.!..

I played this game for 8hrs without enabling cheat codes and i conquered up to the bridge.Initially tax system was somewhat reasonble(not actually) and when i approached bridge..tax system went up to..1000 deduction of resources..so further playing is nearly impossible without the resources..although u said u can hide ur resources from tax system..but it cannot be.since we cannot focus on 2 direction..Still it's a good game to play..i enjoyed the game especially in the beginning..my suggestion is to decrease difficulty to one point..in hard mode and enabling buildings.[Edited on 06/28/06 @ 04:01 AM]

Thanks for your comment :~)
I made the resource tax go up at that point because by then you are really in a Fixed Force and don't need them anymore(meaning you conquer the rest of the map with your remaining forces)and I didn't want the player to be able to build castles/towers everywhere. To 'hide' resources buy farms at the mill (worth 60 wood each) and convert food/wood to gold at the market so you can 'pull out' the resources you need right -After- the tax is paid (later you can hide resources by buying extra units after the max pop is reached) but by then the player shouldn't need any more resources. Thanks for playing...hope you finish the rest :~)
Thanks

I think duskxiv's review is unfair and should be erased. Clearly he has not followed the guidelines and has not even completed the scenario.
He also misses the point, Jas the Mace's speciality is this type of scenario. You are outnumbered but it is perfectly possible to win, and, although they don't have great depth in story, are fun to play.
Also the map design is good, the starting position is especially well done, and the whole thing in general is an improvement on his previous work (rated about 4.0), as he has taken on advice offered. Hopefully justice will be done on the review. |
