The game was fairly simple to understand and to win. The missions where simple, but not always easy to understand. One mission was like 'Select him to do that' but you never knew where the unit was on the map.
When you launched the attack, all allies attacked in united forces but where slaughtered by the elites as they reached the castle walls.
When you used your cannons to break through the wall, it was very simple to win it all. Your allies rushed in throughy the hole and together with your own forces you could kill The Black Prince ten second after the wall was down.
So to sum it, it was easy to understand what to do, but not always how to do it. It was a little challenging in the beginning, but you could finish it off after ten minutes at most.
The game was not very balanced. Even if The Black Prince had elite guards with over 1000 HP, your massive armies could finish them off quickly. The fortress had a thin layer of wall and was empty on the inside, except for a few towers. It wa rather easy to win and it was not a challenge.
But you still have to think. You cant simply rush up and win. Therefor it gets a 3
The map wasn't very creative. It took a new aspect, the story about the Black Prince, but thats all. The 'siege' was as simple as it could become, all soldiers rushing and bettering the walls, and the layout wasn't very fresh or so either.
Its not bad, but its not very creative.
Map Design: 3
I was a little divided by the map design. It had elevations, eyecandy and other things, but what it lacked was mixed terrain. The ground was mostly one type of terrain and it didnt look too well in some places. The eyecandy could become a little overused in some places, like a whole bunch of Tree TD in one place and a nother bunch in another place, but apart from that the author handles eyecandy pretty well.
To sum, the map lacked in ground-design but eyecandy and elevations where good parts
The main problem about this part is that there is no specific story. It tells that you're fighting the Black Prince, and then you get no instructions of how to do it. There is not a single Display Instruction effect or Send Chat effect in the whole game, and it did bother me a little.
Still, even if there where no real story or many instructions, you did understand what to do fairly quick. It could however been more detailed.
(In this place I'll do as Mashek uses to do, because I find that way a very good way)
In a word: Nice
In closing: lacks a little on almost all areas, and if it was upgraded this could get almost 1 rating up on all cathegories
Nice review Basse. I agree with you.
