A Battle for Peace
You are Johannes Dagen, one of four Generals who command the Ackolian armies. You answer to King Darill, the ruler of the Ackolian Empire.
There has been peace in the land of Ackolia for many years, but the empire has kept a force of men in case a war should ever arise. It had been hoped that this would never happen, because Ackolia is the only empire in the known world. But, when one of your fellow Generals tries to cause the people of Ackolia to rebel against the rule of King Darill, war breaks out.
If the defected general, a man by the name of Amoras Krystoff, had stayed in the mapped regions of the world, capturing him would be easy, and quelling the rebellions, still easier. But, as luck would have it, Krystoff has managed to find a new continent, just outside of the known ocean waters.
With the protection of the oceans expanse, Krystoff's men have been turning more and more people against the empire, and has even begun to send troops to fight the armies of Ackolia.
In such dark times, you are the only hope of the empire, and of King Darill. Your mission: Go to this new continent, find, and capture Amoras Krystoff. It will be a difficult task, and you may lose many men, but you must capture him. Without Krystoff's leadership, it is hope that the rebellions will fall apart. God be with you!
This is a teaser and scenario for my upcoming campaign, 'A Battle for Peace'. It is yet to be completed, and if you could post a comment and tell me how you liked it, I will take all opinions into account when making the rest of the campaign. Thank you.

Well, t'was kinda short. The teaser was great and nice, but this had a short story. I got the stuff.
I went to the middle island. I killed some boats. I went through the reef. And the end.
But I really liked the reef part. I saw it for t3h first time. But everything else was just too darn short.
Well, maybe I just expected too much. It's definetly worth a download, but nothing sensational.[Edited on 08/24/06 @ 11:28 AM]

Thanks for your comments, Morgoth. I too thought it was short, but had a great atmosphere nonetheless. Thanks for download and playing. ;)[Edited on 08/24/06 @ 05:04 PM]

Playability: 4
Hmm, for the starters, i unfortunately have to say that this campaign was below MY expectations. Some of the dialogues went past too quick...although i didnt encounter any bugs. Ill give it i 4.
Balance: 2
I played, as always, on hard, and i beat it on first try. That makes the campaign a bit too easy. Still i was a little nervous after defeating third group of the pirates.;)
Anyway, i give it a 2, because of lack of challenge.
Creativity: 4
I liked the creative part of the campaign. Especially the journal. The reef rocked, literally. But getting ships across took time tho. Anyway, for interesting ideas, ill give it a 4.
Map Design: 3
Well, no offence, but maps need work. I am the type of person who likes a detail on the map, eye candy and such...With me, no matter how epic the storyline or how folded the plot is, noone can sqeeze a rating higher than 3 out of me without good map design. Altho i liked the islands, the detail and eyecandy still needs work. So it gets a 3(average)
Story/Instructions: 5
The story, i must say, was great. When i constructed a camp, i was getting ready for fight with Krystoff...but for my suprise(bad one), the campaign ended...:(
Anyway, it was enough for a 5.
Overall: 3.6
This campaign is defenately worth downloading. Despite of the map, it still was a campaign surely above average...so DL it!
Peace!

Wow, I think this scenario is promissing. What a good looking town and what good story! It´s unfortune that the campaing is so short.
(I whish I could write as good in english as the one who made this scenario...)

Thanks guys for the reviews, I'm glad that you all liked it. I have two of the other scenarios well underway, but sadly I'm not sure that I will ever get around to finishing them. This scenario was short and also not very difficult as it was meant to be more of an interactive cutscene than anything else. I'm not sure how thouroughly you played it, but there are a few secret areas to be found with some exploration. The next one is much, much more in-depth, The part that is finished took me nearly a solid two months of designing to complete where the two included in this package took me about a week total. I hope to work on this some more and eventually release the finished product, but who knows when that will be. |
