Elevation 10 Improved

Author File Description
TeutonicCrusader
File Details
Version: The Conquerors
Hi Everyone,

This file has been updated. Elevation 10(counting from Elevation 7)starts on top of Elevation 2 instead of 1. It includes 3 files. 1 is the SCX file and 2 is a Hex 2 file. You need a hex editor preferably Cygnus to open it and see what I did to the data. The 3rd file is a NotePad file and informs you of how to use the Hex 2 file and open it. It also has some extra information included.As of now there is NO way I could tell you how to do it as the scenario was saved under the name Hex and any other name changes the data.Please report any bugs or glitches. Thanks for downloading and all the info:)

oliver Well, thanks to a guy named scenario_t_c, I learned hex editing about a year ago. Together with him I pioneered several modding areas of the game, mainly graphics editing. I can also do technology editing, but that was a while ago.

Unfortunately I don't know programming. It would be cool if I did. ;-)

Dantares IV You could allways learn Oliver. No one is too old to learn new things.

@Oliver
Im learning C++. I wish i knew more about grouping everything together correctly to create a full blown program. But it just takes time. Is there anyway to allow the squares around people to run up on restricted squares like cliffs part way by Hex editing?

@Dantares
By the way, you left an "r" out of your recent upload to the BS-in the word "tutouial". Just thought you might want to know. Do you know how to program?

This elevation is extrememly useful to anyone interested in making a battle on a high pass, or having a battle on a mountain or something like that. This is a Must Download utility for anyone! It's easy to move, and easy to map copy.

Additional Comments:

I am useing this for one of my many campaigns, Thermopaly (Or however you spell the blasted name). I wonder how much higher people can go if they try experiments with elevations. Who knows, maybe one day there will be an Elevation 20! :D

Doubt it...hey I can dream can't I? :p

You have done a great job on this. Keep up the good work!!

Hey, i finally have come back here and noticed this was rated by the one and only Dantares. Thanks for rating it! You have made some of the most interesting campaigns i have ever played.
Dantares IV Hey, you deserved it.

"You have made some of the most interesting campaigns i have ever played."

I trust you mean that in a good way? ;)

Once again Im amazed. Decided to check on the ol'communnity again and see whats new then stopped by here and wow, you (Dantares) replied not to long ago to my last comment. It could have been back when I posted it but instead its recent...around the time I decided to look around. Hehehe. No really, your campaigns were very creative and interesting. Sad to say, I have created so many campaigns and had about 3 in all that were closed to being finished and....were killed once again by my oh, so, loving brothers. They constantly were changing data and reinstalling the game(they just had to check the: Delete User created Files button) after I worked hard to get Genied where I wanted it and my campaign was huge. Im still crazy about this game. Enough to maybe try again at creating another campaign and pherhaps finish it for once. Well, so long.

I think you and I would get along well together. I've never been praised so much by one person as by everyone else here combined. I'm a relatively disliked forumer in SD. Mostly because I'm a realist, I don't apprciate people breaking rules, I dislike corrupted mods, and I overreact SOMETIMES.

"No really, your campaigns were very creative and interesting."

I'm glad. Did you play my latest one ~The Outer Rim~?

It always helps to make backups on CDs, or make two files, so if one gets deleted, you have an older one to refer to, or else send a backup version to your friend.

Well, just try to keep it under "lock and key". ;)

"Well, so long."

Bye. :)
