How to use the program: (This is a console program. A second black window will popup. Just minimize it.)
Note: Use only 8-bit(256 colors) bitmaps. All other formats will be ignored.
First, gather all of your bitmap(s) and put them in a folder. Lets call this folder the Source directory. The program needs to know this directory "first". Use the top pushbuton with the [...] to search for the Source directory. "Make sure you put the images first in the Source directory or the program will not let you procede!"
Note: For the first time you use the program, may have to select the Source directory twice in order to active the "Start" button!
Second, you need to specify the Output directory. This folder will contain the modified bitmaps. Use the bottom pushbuton with the [...] to search for the Output directory.
Third, select which of the 2 palettes you want to use. There's a palette for Age of the Empires 2(AOK) and the Expansion(TC). Depending on which palette you have selected, the program will convert the palette(s) of the original bitmap(s) to the AOK or TC palette. Remember: the program finds the closest color match in the AOK or TC palette and makes the color replacements/changes.
Moreover, the program will also fix the WHITE BOX transparency color index error automatically. There is no option to turn this off.
The usesage of the smaller edit box is described in the readme file. If you don't know how to use it just leave it empty.
Update: I accidentally left out the readme file. I have decided to archive the files into a WinZip self-extractor. Just press the button "Unzip". All the files are extracted to C:\MFPC
Note: An error will occur because I had the program installed in a different directory. Directory information is saved in the "workdir.mat" files. Just delete these files. There is one in: "C:\Program Files\mfpc\Source" and another in: "C:\Program Files\mfpc". Then it should work.
Note: It has been corrected in the update!
Edit: I am using Win98se. If you're using another OS there's a possibility that some DLLs might be missing. Here's a site where you can download Dll for free: http://www.dll-files.com

You submitted your update disregarding the update form. Please avoid uploading duplicate files; you can update your submission clicking the 'Update' button above your description.
It can be very frustrating for our visitors to download and play a file and find out later that a newer version is available.
I updated this submission and removed ID 8072: Multiple Files Palette Converter Update.
You mention a read me but there was none included in any of the two downloads, some words of how to install would be helpful.

Multiple file palette converter is a modding utility, which converts a set of 256 color bitmaps into the Aok palette.
This program does a good job of converting a normal 256 color bitmap into the Aok or TC palette. However it is quite buggy and generally difficult to handle. The file 'workdir.mat' has to be deleted in order for it to work properly. Even then it gives all kinds of errors that are not understandable ,eg. when trying to use a file that hasn't been opened yet. These are solved by repeatedly clicking on the input or output directory.
On the plus side, a program of this sort is a boon to unit modders who usually convert a set of sprites from another game into AokTC. It also lets you adjust the output folder and input folder and rename the files as well.
The quality of the image converted is not exactly "the best", but still about of the same standard as MS Paint which is good enough for most units though not so much for buildings. It also fixes the 'white transparency error'. There is no way to turn that off, which can be a disadvantage as you can have a few 'holes' in your final image, however this feature is much more of a boon than a bane. Also, there is a problem when importing units from AoE as the player colors do not exactly match, but this can be solved with a custom cvt. Finally the speed at which it works is somewhat slow, especially when converting large bitmaps.
This is a great tool for modders. However it's extreme user-unfriendliness makes it difficult to use for newbies. However it is a hell lot faster than converting by hand. I did the chariot archer's walking frames and got it done in a little more than 5 min. The same thing with hand took over 1 1/2 hours :P. Thanks for making it. Please release the source code too so that other people might be able to improve on it.

I won't be updating my review because I wrote that a while earlier but I would like to add that this program isn't particularly good. I made a program which does the same thing and more much faster, more efficiently and totally bug free. ( It turned out that BMP files are very easy to manipulate. ) Thanks for the inspiration anyway :)
