This is a build and destroy/scenario version of Helm's Deep. A lot of cool features including a warping mechanism and numerous difficulty levels and other options.
There are two different difficulty settings, the one at the setup screen (which should be set to hard) and the in-game one which you choose.
For first time players try moderate or hard.
I, personally, have never beat it on hard...
I'm looking forward to converting this map into a co-op and multiplayer - hopefully one for both.
This is my first post here, so any comments would be much appreciated!!
Enjoy! |

Yes, this scenario ranks without any doubt among the best Helm's Deep I played, it is creative with the warp feature for player and ally. Thanks for sharing it with us.
A few remarks, the instructions should tell which units transport, I trained monks but they do not. The game goes on for a while after the Riders of Rohirrim arrived and I got the victory signal when I blocked the enemy spawn points, coincidence? When I still had six heroes left, I received a message (yellow) that I have only one hero, to protect him. The name is Gandalf not Gandolf.

This was an interesting game. I did not exactly like the "warp" idea at the beginning. Also, I think Helms Deep had a litte more than just something like mabe 20 men. |

well thats better then when someone makes a huge battle with too many men.. and anyway, all of the campaigns in aok only have small armie then what would really be realistic. its almost like 1 archer represents 10 or more... anyway,
this is definatley one of the better ones ive ever played. im impressed that you managed to make a new twist on a idea (helms deep) that was becoming overused and was fading in popularity. well done |

Well joefife, I will be honest. I do not see what is so neat and exciting about this game. I did not really enjoy it at all. But on to what I first wanted to say. "Congratulations on this being such a hit." :) Just because I don't like it does not give me the right to go around boooing or degrading this game. |

I'm certainly suprised by the backlash on this 'original' LOTR map. I've personally been very bored by most of the so-called LOTR maps...maybe it's the new twist with the warp and 'impish' attack (variable diff.) that is turning people off.??..Or maybe the need to follow the script exactly.?.. There are some good large battle LOTR maps but this one makes you use your building skills to keep up with battle needs and get your troops there...A good Logistics map...Good balance if you choose your appropriate skill level....
Once again...A Good Map.!!... |

This is a creative idea but too difficult IMO. I can't win even on moderate despite inflicting causalties in 1:10 ratio and when the tower signalling arrival of Rohirrim burns out then nothing happens, rather that time my front gate gets breached |

eh... too hard?
i selected hardest and thought it was pretty easy.
but then again I am fairly good at RM and this just an easier version of boom + spam arbalests
i didn't realize we could warp other troops until way late in the game. it's just that someone said archers, so i thought only archers would go since my villie didn't[Edited on 04/05/07 @ 01:40 AM]
