Brelda the Hun - Chapter I

Author File Description
File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Role Playing Strategy
Brelda is 12 years old and lives with his parents, his grandmother and his two brothers Attila and Bleda in a calm hunnish village in the mountains.
His father teach him all that a hunnish warrior needs: He learns to handle a bow, how to hunt and the right bearing in the wilderness. Like every hun. Till to that fateful letter that changed Brelda’s life and guided him to exciting adventures. From insidious bandits, over mystic magicians, crazed alchemist, dusky caves till to spooky forests will await his way. If he’s able to master these adventures, decide only you alone.

The game has a approximate time of perhaps 4 hours.

Optimal modulation for to game:
Gamespeed: Fast
Degree of difficulty: Moderate
Resolution: 1024x768 or 1280x1024
Music: Off (the map has its own backgroundmusic)

I hope you'll have fun to play it and please ignore the grammatic- and/or spellingfaults. :)

Haven't played much yet, but this seems great. Its a long time since there was a great RPG.
Good job Simon!
stasik50 I have just started playing it and it seems pretty good. Good work, and if you don't mind telling me: how long did it take you to make?

Thx for the flowers :)

How long did I take, to make this map... that a really hard question, because I didn't worked permanently on the map. Had some little breaks between.
Well I began the project in Mai 2004 or so. Finally, I released the german version in February 2006.
At September 2006 I brought myself to translate the map. The most part I translated at Christmas. During 3 days I translated ca. 70% of the whole map. (Ya, I got nothing to do...)
And now its here at AokH.

At the moment I think about translating another map, but now I'm a bit tired of this permanent translating stuff. It's a good English training indeed, but I also need some vacations. :P
morgoth bauglir Whoa, this sort of RPGs haven't come out in a long time. I think that this might even get a 5.0!!!

S_M_T: you mention doing this in German - do you know AgeArena? I have recently been looking at the site and the standard of designs is exceptionally high. I will try yours soon, it sounds excellent.
Froggle bum Im amazed at this... this is good i liked it alot i havent finished it tho lol but im gettin there! :P
EstebanF This campaign is looking great. I haven't played the whole thing, but what I've seen has been excellent.

I have one problem, though. The game plays very slow to me, and it even lags sometimes (as it happens with great battles in FF scenarios). Is there any solution to this? it's very annoying...

Hard to say. Did you already tried it without the mod?
You won't need it until you reach the five finger bandits.
Otherwise I didn't have any idea. Maybe lower resolution or graphic details or so.

@Stephen Richards: Of course I know the Agearena. I already released Brelda there in german. As far as I remember I even linked the map in the ReadMe file.
Flamesfan07 Looks good, S_M_T. The map design is excellent and its very fun to play.

There are just a few little things I noticed:
1) There were quite a few typos/grammatical errors. However, I understand it's probably pretty hard to translate a campaign that long from German.

2) You should use silent tributes. I find it annoying hearing "You have a recieved a 1 wood tribute from GAIA" every time you gain experience points. (In case you don't already know, simply tribute -x wood to GAIA and you won't get a message. *NOTE* you cannot tribute -1 of any resource. However, you can work around this by tributing -2 and then tributing 1 in seperate effects)

Overall a fun campaign, I can't wait for Chapter II
WildCardDoW As soon as I knew this was on Age Arena I knew it would be worth playing, hope I am not dissapointed!
