Role Playing Strategy |
Brelda is 12 years old and lives with his parents, his grandmother and his two brothers Attila and Bleda in a calm hunnish village in the mountains.
His father teach him all that a hunnish warrior needs: He learns to handle a bow, how to hunt and the right bearing in the wilderness. Like every hun. Till to that fateful letter that changed Brelda’s life and guided him to exciting adventures. From insidious bandits, over mystic magicians, crazed alchemist, dusky caves till to spooky forests will await his way. If he’s able to master these adventures, decide only you alone.
The game has a approximate time of perhaps 4 hours.
Optimal modulation for to game:
Gamespeed: Fast
Degree of difficulty: Moderate
Resolution: 1024x768 or 1280x1024
Music: Off (the map has its own backgroundmusic)
I hope you'll have fun to play it and please ignore the grammatic- and/or spellingfaults. :)

Thanks for the tips, S_M_T. However, I still have some technical problems and questions...
Is it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to play with the modpack when you reach the five finger bandits?[Edited on 01/09/07 @ 03:08 PM]

No, it isn't necessary.
The mod turns only the Grim into (invsible) ghosts at the forest.
@barbarossa:
You have to lock on the road surface. Somewhere in the monastery is a muster. ;)
Or in emergency, I made a little screen with the solution:

But only in emergency. :P
@Flamesfan07: Thanks for your review. I didn't knew this silent tribute trick. (unfortunately)[Edited on 01/05/07 @ 08:51 PM]

@ S_M_T
whaha i looked over half an hour for something that looks like the formation.. and now i look again.. and i just see it..
thnx;)
now i know.. the reason i could not see formation at the ground was just because there stood a tower i had to build myself in front of it!:P
BTW i finnished this part of brelda!!
i really liked it.. can't wait for the next part:)[Edited on 01/06/07 @ 10:53 AM]

Great game!!!
I Had lots of fun playing it. Some areas are very challenging (I always seemed to be overmatched) I actually cheated to get through the end part by leaving the monk by the transport, I had 336 Exp. with 107hps (nice rockslide)Lots of creative aspects to this game...a must download!!![Edited on 01/19/07 @ 06:29 PM]

Wow... My first review
Playability: 5
Absolutely Fun and lots of choices. Going through the game 2 - 3 times could result in different choices (although nothing changing the game)
Balance: 4
Everything seemed to be well in balance, although it seemed the people could abuse the outpost. But none the less the use of elevation is important for killing, instead of just walzing in and obliterating everything without anything touching you (I'm a noob, I tend to do that alot)
Creativity: 5
VERY creative. I liked how instead of receiving the unit, you just get escorted by them, and it's quite humorous, and it actually seems like a twelve year old is telling the story! (No disrespect)
Map Design: 5
Quite a nice design, the dungeon looked very nice with the sea walls, and palisade walls. Everything seemed to blend together instead of in some scenario's... Just going from winter to desert within 5 steps. and the pitfall was very clever... I kept falling for it XD
Story/Instructions: 5
VERY historically inaccurate, but what good campaign isn't? None the less I enjoyed the story and the instructions made everything clear! I was NEVER lost!
Additional Comments:
Very good campaign! Keep 'em coming!

Thx for the rate. But what is the exact reason, you gave at the balancing 4 Points?
The outpost couldn't be the reason...? I made him for the newbs, who haven't enough micro or did not finished enough quests, so they're to weak to manage the mountains or the forest. Or if they only wanted to walzing through the map and they're to lazy to use their brain.
The others could delete it, that the outpost didn't seduce them.
I made the outpost also to avoid frustration. For example for those who don't use several save states and they recognize in a cave or another passage (e.g. the mountains or so), that they're to weak to come through.
Instead of loading an immemorial save state, they could use the outpost as alternative. |

Playability: 5
Beeing an RPG style game i was immediatly taken in by the quests and simple task you had to perform as playing the character 'Brelda'. The Game definatly make you feel right in the story and the author has used a technique by making a lot of different ways of playing the story. There is a fair share of small cut scenes which really give you some rest in the game as it is such a long game to complete and the cutscenes can give you that rest so that you can watch a little bit. I was unaware of many bugs but unfortunatly the grammer used in some of the instructions was a dissapointment.
Balance: 5
Having 'Brelda' as an archer was the best possible option as most of the bandits seemed to be foot soldiers and in most cases had a better chance of killing you. A great way of balancing this out was the use of elevation which was consitient throughout the game. The Outpost was a must have and i found myself needing to use it a few times in the quest where i had to defend the monastary of magic where you get to gather a small army and use all your skills in order to defend the small town. Having been unsucsessful the first time i found myself changing troop combinations like the instructions suggested.
Creativity: 5
There was a great deal of trigger tricks used to perfection nothing which was too overboard they where perfect for the map and i was thrilled at the idea of having the player possibly fail if the quest was not followed. I was pleased with the use of triggers on almost every person in the village having to click on them but first beeing next to them. The experience trigger did get a little annoying after playing the game 4 hours + but find a way to remove that and the map will be perfect.
Map Design: 5
The map was fantastic having been set in a snowing town and i love the snow sets in Aoe2 and the use of Snow Pine trees and normal pine trees really worked well in the areas where the snow was melting or hadnt fallen yet. The river was sitiuated in the middle of the map and contatined a large number of ice shelfs which was used for walking over and also so that when you used the transport ship it could go over them. Every single village looked wonderful and the use of GAIA items was perfect.
Story/Instructions: 5
The amount of Story behind this was ideal about beeing the son of a leader and having 2 highly respected brothers who would give anything for 'Brelda'. The instructions where spot on throughout the map however at some stages in the game i had a little trouble figuring out what i had to do. (Note i was a little hesitant to give you a 5 here but you did an excellent job translating most of the other stuff).
Additional Comments:
Probly one of the best Single RPG games i have downloaded and i hope you make the 2nd chapter as i was a little dissapointed to end after 5hours and 33Minutes playing. All in all this is a must download for all RPG fans.
Good job |
