*Post-Imp DM 1.0c* You can't tell but in this game the map wasn't even explored so it took me a second to find them. Speed is key when using a rush, also pulling back when its not working so you don't waste resources. Here's an example where I4C was talking smack after they beat my allies and I in a michi game so him and his friend cooped and I showed them how to backup their expert claim. 8 minute game. |

This was interesting. I didn't watch the [i]whole[/i] thing, but I saw all those stables you built! At least 12. Then you rushed the other guy, it was funny. |

Well thank you lol. Like I said they were talking smack after beating me in a 3v3 michi game saying I sucked so I wanted to make sure I got my point across.
P.S. Watch the whole thing, it takes like 30 seconds on fastest replay lol |

I would like to start out by saying that I appreciate your posting of these three recorded games. Too many people do not understand the power of a Hun rush. However, the rush shown here is the original version developed early in AOK history by many people. No offense, but it's not even shown well in these games. The reason is that you were obviously playing a rook in the final two games. The games that you defended against the Hun rush was nice to watch, but your opponent had no idea of rushing tactics or abilities. The game before was a joke, too. The first example of the rush was a bit nicer to watch, but it was still a bit slow. I'm not sure if you were playing while knowing which civs you were against or not, but both of the people you played the rush against chose the wrong civs. Anyways, several years ago the venerable Lord_Waldo developed a Hun rush that was quite a bit quicker and more effective than the previous version. It was so effective that many people and teams immediately resigned when they saw he got the Huns. I've been on the receiving end many times, unfortunately. I'm not about to list the entire strategy here, but I would like to say that it is far beyond what is seen here. And only one civ can stop the rush, if you know what you're doing.
Again, thanks for the post. I appreciate that someone sees the Huns are easily the best rushing iv in the game. It's amazing how many times people have talked big games, but in the end have fallen to me when I'm the Huns...[Edited on 02/16/07 @ 11:15 AM]

I watched Hun Rush 1 of 1. I feel you waste time by not using SHIFT to create 5 units at a time. You do this manually, one by one.
You made 12 stables. Ctrl + L, Shift + N, repeat 12 times. Then you have quickly made 60 Paladins, and can concentrate, (keep drag highlighting to kill vills) |

I don't use shift in dm at the beginning because i want to manage my econ as well, look at my tc and you will see I use it to make vills. If the rush doesn't work I don't want to waste a ton of gold on pals...and of course I use the hotkeys, how do you think its so fast lol[Edited on 03/04/07 @ 10:39 AM]

lolz. My start is H, ccc. 15 vills. Two on rax/stables, one on house.
If cavalry, then I will make 5. If infantry, 10. For stuff like onagers/bb cannons. I make 2-3. Like go around all siege works and press hotkey 2-3 times.
Also I could stop your Hun rush if I was persians because I would clump
I find Goth rush is more successful than hun rush. Mainly because huskarls, if he gets castle up, aren't a threat since they are immune. plus if he's got pallys, you just create halbs and husks. if he got champs, make your own champs lol. It's a cheaper rush, about the same speed as well. look forward to playing you frost, are you on GameSpy?[Edited on 03/22/07 @ 01:13 PM]

Yea, I'm on gamespy...name is same as on here Frost_cs...and if you were to clump I would switch to archery ranges...you could still maybe get up 1 castle but it wouldn't matter if I was already at your base =P And yea, goth rushes are tight. I usually don't rush, I just needed to make a quick statement since they were talking smack in the previous team game. |
