For the most part, the technique and logistics used were experienced and practiced. Hit-and-run raiding with the Cav. Archers was effective. Keeping pace with upgrades and replacing lost military units was what kept the player from being overwhelmed and in the game.
The ocean-side was very much neglected early on. I don't think I saw one fishing ship launched from a dock and the warships did no scouting until en mass.
The economy past the first hour should have been acquiring the conquered lands adjacent to players home base. With the move to claim land should have been building more Archeries and Town Centers. Near an hour and a half, player had the resources to build enough Barracks and perform Champion flood to end-game, but still had not upgraded swordsmen to Man-at-Arms.
It was painfully obvious that this recording contained a lot of pausing the game to keep an edge over the computer players.
