"Days and years pass as the glaring truth about the corruption of Roman governing members were evident. This, however,is not a story of the fall of the Roman empire but is seemingly a story of me-the victim of Roman corruption and politics before the dark age.For years have I served Roman Empire but nothing shocked me as much as what was to happen in Rome. The situation was partly clear when I was given the task of protecting a Roman outpost. The barbarian hordes have doubled by then...
The Last Roman Soldier is another Roman campaign among the other ones in the Blacksmith. This little campaign is a start, but cound use some improvement.
I found part of this campaign enjoyable. However, the length between the Monastery and the Invincible Archer way too long. Dangit! All the way across the map diagonally! However, finding some of the people such as the mysterious woman was enjoyable. A good map should always keep you in your seat and entertain you, but this didn't wasn't very entertaining. So this part gets a 3.
This map I found quite easy on Moderate. The siege of the Visigoths fort was quite easy, and getting rid of the invincible archer was practically given to me. But, this is a role-playing game. Most role-playing games was about figuring out how to achieve your goal, which means fighting isn't supposed to be the main idea. But some enemies on the road would have made the game harder and more entertaining. Therefore, a 2.
I will give some light on this location. The campaign about "The Last Roman Soldier" is creative, the map wasn't creative, mainly the story. But I didn't see many RPG elements.
Map Design: 2
Ick. Plain Grass 1 with Dirt 2 and Road Broken with blocky Oak Forest Trees. The northern area was covered with snowy grass and snowy dirt. They were out of place and looked horrible. Some pieces of eye-candy rose the score up to a 2, such as forage bushes and rocks and mountains. Though there wasn't many. I also didn't like the camps and the Roman City. There wasn't any substance. Just buildings scattered out in some palisade walls.
I enjoyed this story very much, and didn't find many spelling errors. Perhaps the one most noticable was that you spelled "invisible" instead of "invincible". The story was easy to follow, but not perfect.
Overall: Not a highly recommended download. This campaign can be easily fixed and if you improved it, I would like to re-review it. A good first campaign.
Additional Comments: Try to improve your map design. Download a few campaigns with a good design if you haven't. Make your scenarios harder. Take your time. That way you can become better at scenario designing.
