You\'ll need increasing inventiveness and imagination to fulfill each of the scenario goals.
FOr people who like \'bang-bang\' - there is plenty of that too.
Red Alert was originally designed to test some hypotheses about defending a position from a severe military disadvantage. Later, I added a series of carefully constructed puzzles.
You start off with few units against an overwhelming force. You have a strong home town infrastructure. A constellation of towers monitors movements and can remotely counters the enemy advance.
You build up your economy from zero, then set out in search of relics. (In the hard setting, time pressure is added). Once you leave the safety of the home town, you\'ll usually be at a military disadvantage. You can make up for the difference with brain power.
If you succeed in solving all puzzles, you\'ll face an attack of renewed vigour in the finale. You can survive by imaginative use of your civilisation\'s unique capability.
Play time is about 80 minutes.
Red Alert is fairly difficult. There are a couple of text files included with useful hints.
