what do you mean you moved the file from Random maps? It is a random Map, and I submitted another scenario, Power Arising, before I submitted this and I don't see it on the blacksmith. What happened? |

Rebel Troop, your file is a .SCX file; you find .SCX files in Default/Microsoft Games/Age of Empire II/Scenario. To view the difference, go to Default/Microsoft Games/Age of Empire II/Random, where the Random Maps the RMS files are.
On the left from here, under 'Browse Categories', you find Random Maps, load some games.
You should check your mail box; I sent you an email before I commented here.
=======================================================
I moved 'concealed towns' to the Single Player section.
You submitted a scenario, a .SCX file to the Random Map section of the Blacksmith. Random Maps are custom made computer generated maps, RMS files.
For future reference, in general, .SCN and .SCX go to Single Player or Multiplayer, .CPN and .CPX with more than one scenario to Campaign, .RMS files to Random Map, AI and PER files to AI, .MGL and .MGX files to recorded game, .SLP and MPS scripts to Mod Packs. Any file that does not fall into the above categories and/or is a tutorial, tool, template, altered stat file etc that is free for others to use should goes utilities.
Unfortunately, 'Power Arising' crashes, also opening it in the editor and I removed the file.

When you fixed 'Power Arising' you can submit it again.

Rebel Troop,
First, you insist that a .SCX file is a Random Map, to an extent that you edited your description to put 'RM' at the beginning after I moved the file, and now you seem not to understand, "'Power Arising' crashes, also opening it in the editor".
To play a .SCX file, you go Single Player, Random Map, Scenario, when I click 'Power Arising', my computer crashes. Then I went Map Editor, Edit Scenario and clicked 'Power Arising' to view it in the editor, it crashed again. I wrote 'ALSO opening it in the editor' to indicate that it crashed also trying to play the file.
As I could neither play nor view your file, I cannot tell you why it crashed. If it plays for you but not for me, it could be that you designed the scenario with an altered .DAT file installed, which you should indicate for others to play without a crash. Another reason could be that you interrupted the submission before completion with the result that not the whole .SCX file arrived at the blacksmith. Your file has 30.4 KB in my scenario folder if it has more in yours, you should submit it again. Do not browse or interrupt until you receive an ID number for your file.

If RMs are only computer generated why would people submit them to the blacksmith? and, you say I don't understand the "Power Arising' crashes, also opened, in the editor, second time I say this, It doesn't crash for me, and that's what you don't seem to understand.

hey rebel troop
people send random maps because the random map programming is made by a human. What they do is programming a .rm file to tell the computer how the map should be. However, the place where the stuff appears in the map is not always the same; beacause of this if you play a random map several times, the actual map will not always be the same than the last one, although they will look similar one to another.
P.S. On the subject of your other map, you always have to tell people which .dat file you used when you created the file. If you dont do so, the people who try use it with the default dat file wont be able to play it. |

I thought that Renassiance was just an add-on and it didn't matter wether I used it or not |

If you use items that are available in Renaissance but not in the original Conquerors Expansion it crashes people's comps when they have not Renaissance installed.
Resubmit 'Power Arising' and mention in your description that it plays with Renaissance. Example,
You need [url=http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/showfile.php?fileid=8365][c=blue]Renaissance[/c][/url] installed to play this file.
For the above link to work click BB Code above the description when you submit the file.
