The Conquerors 1.0c |
Jones Blond
and the Ultimate Mission
This is my entry to Mashek's ACSC, Age of Kings Heaven Cut-Scene Competition, of year 2007. The cut-scene you'll see is part of a bigger project to be released sometime in Spring 2008... hopefully*.
I hope you enjoy the cut-scene as it is now, and that you wont fall asleep in the middle of it. Read carefully and follow the hints given. Read all instructions to get a wider perspective before you actually watch the cut-scene.
Credits are in the eftermath. Now, download and ENJOY!
* as with all my promises of this sort, it wasn't fulfilled. There might be a full version sometime in the future. Some time. |

I liked this campaign a bunch. I watched it before starting to make my cut-scene contest entry. It helped me. But, at the beginning how do you reveal map sections? I want to reveal new sections of the map for my cut-scene later, not at the beginning. Is it possible to create map revealers and remove them with triggers or something? Thanks. |

You pretty much answered your own question there legoguitars ;).
Create a map revealer with triggers (can be found under Others, for the Gaia player). When you want the map to go black again, have another trigger remove them. If you want the map to reveal a section of the map, but keep it in the fog of war, like I did in the beginning of the sunrise scene, have the first trigger create the map revealer and then remove it immediately. Hope that helps :) |

This cinematic sounds fantastic, and from what I can see, it is great. However, for some reason, everything freezes when he enters the agency near the beginning. The camera moves to inside, and the Blond enters, walks to the left for a few steps, and then stops. Nothing happens after that. The people inside keep walking around (other than Blond and the receptionist), so... So there. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?[Edited on 08/30/11 @ 02:18 PM]

That's never happened before to my knowsledge, it's probably a random glitch. Try replaying the cut-scene from the start, hopefully that'll work. |

I tried doing it again twice, and the exact same thing happened. This is rather annoying.
EDIT: And it continues to happen. Any idea what I could do? This same type of thing also happens in another of yours, "The Last Samurai Castle". The person who is chosen to go in the time machine walks over to it, and then suddenly turns and moves down a tiny bit, right before he is in it. I should probably post that there, but I figured it might help to keep this all in one place, considering that it is the same type of problem. I really want to see both of these, so if you can come up with any reason for why this would be happening, I would be extremely grateful.
EDIT: I really would love a response, my dear sir, and would appreciate it if you could take the time to help me figure this out. As I have said, these two scenarios look fantastic.
EDIT: I originally posted this SIX MONTHS AGO. Am I ever going to get a response?[Edited on 08/30/11 @ 02:18 PM]

This is depressing, to say the least. |

I must've missed the original comment, and updating it doesn't give me any new notification. I still have no idea what's causing it though, and I haven't had anyone reporting that for the years it's been up. Have you tried replaying it recently and the same thing just keeps happening? :{ |

Yes; it just keeps happening, with both of those scenarios. All of the settings are right; everything seems like it should work. |

Are you perhaps using a faster speed? That can sometimes mess things up. |

All of the settings are correct, I believe. I have checked a few times, because that is what I thought it was at first.
EDIT: It seems that I am being forgotten about again. Is double posting really all that will get someone's attention?
EDIT: Apparently so...[Edited on 10/01/11 @ 12:24 PM]
