This is my entry to the Age of Kings Heaven Cutscene Contest 2007. The cutscene runs for 16 minutes 40 seconds. Watch the life of Lindson, a student at the Rupert University of Vienz. He falls in love with another student at the university. But life is not so easy especially when something really unexpected happens. Watch how Lindson reacts to those events.

This uses the Immobile Units AI Gold .AI and .PER files. I thank Zanzard Lothar, the author of those files.
This is my first cutscene. The entry size is so small because I didn't use any sound files. But I have tried to make this as good as possible within the deadline for the competition. Please feel absolutely free to write your comments about this cutscene. I thank those who download this.
Why did you use soldiers for women students? It doesn't make too much sense.

I agree, but it was better fun to use soldiers than using villagers or Joan the maid. Just because some characters are women, why shouldn't you use soldier figures?

The story is good, and the characteristics are portrayed nicely. However the plot is a bit rushed, in my opinion.
I don't really like the fact that students are wearing armors and bringing weapons to college. It wouldn't hurt if you used ordinary villagers or joan the maids. But the decision is yours to make, of course.
Good work, John Mendl!

In cut-scenes, playability means how you feeled during the cutscene. This cutscene, during about 5-10 minutes, did not impress me, but was nice to watch. A strong 3.
The tutorial provides an extra paragraph for scenarios without fighting. This cut-scenes does not show any fighting.
John Mendl did not use the standard Joan d'Arc for female figures, which is very good. Instead, he used a spearman and a crossbowman for the ladies. However not commonly used, it made sense to me. Mendl also put in some small, almost unnoticable new ideas. A weak four for this section.
Map Design: 3
This was not an professionally designed map by some designing team, it is just looks better than a random map. However, because of the lack of eyecandy and some other factors, this is the weakest point in this cut-scene, which deserves only a mere 3.
The story was not tie-breaking or a evil, dark story about powerful wizards and monstrous demons, but just a (maybe bit unusual) tale with an happy end. The story is told in an clear way without any unnessecary symbols. This section deserves a 4.
Conclusion: A not so impressive but quite good cut-scene with a strong story and some very creative ideas.
Recommended download? Yes.
