All units except the last 2 are from AOE( Age of Empires). The last 2 are from Battles of Middle Earth.
I originally made this for myself to play Sceletar’s War of Troy in a more realistic environment, as well as messing about with Genied1. I hope you find it useful too.
You do not need MPS to install it.
Installation
The custom NSIS installer is provided.
To uninstall, click the Uninstall program which will be created in your Aok directory if you installed it right.
You can play Ancient/Roman themed campaigns which look more realistic with this. Especially Sceletar’s epic campaign "The War of Troy" which you can find here: http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/showfile.php?fileid=6605
This version has no data file as the frame numbers have been fixed. Thus you can use it along with your custom dat files or playing multiplayer. This will also not give any trouble with unpatched version.
Note: the previous version played very well with Troy, this one is not meant to, especially as there is no data file.

I would like to thank Ronin and Agamemmnon for the SLP's , Ykkrosh for Genied1 and scenario_t_c for Genied2, and Stoyan Ratchev for drsbuild. They did most of the work. I also used ModWorkshop, but that is by me. |

This modpack gives the majority of desirable units from AoE. It is a simple concept but could be quite useful.
Usefulness: The mod alone could probably be of use for mini games or other small scenarios. Any really large scenario would probably require a great deal of buildings which aren't present. But units are considerably more work than buildings so this mod would still be of use as a starting point for a more complete mod.
Novelty: There are two excellent ancient mods, RaW and ARLTR, which can be considered total conversions. Both however have very few units, which the specialty of this mod. In that sense it is very original, although many of the units themselves have already been uploaded separately.
Quality: The quality is pretty standard, as it is all AoE graphics. It is a perfect port, as all anchors and colors and masks appear to be exactly as in AoE. The units certainly look equal to the AoK units in quality.
Additional Comments: A pretty solid mod, definitely worth a look if you are planning on doing something in Ancient times.

IMPORTANT: You need to have patched version for it to operate correctly. Otherwise units may be disappearing.
If you have unpatched, after installation go to Data directory and rename empires2_x1_p1.dat as empires2_x1.dat . Should work fine then. |

Eh, sorry then, I really don't know. I'll fix the framecount when I have time so that there is no need for a data file. |

Sorry, dude, but I have a few problems with this one:
1. You have an elite tarkan as a chariot and the CAVALIER as a scythe? I'd use the elite tarkan as a scythe chariot.
2. Swordsmen would be better like this:
Militia=Clubman
Man at Arms=Short Swordsman
Long Swordsman-Broad Swordsman
Two-Handed Swordsman-Long Swordsman
Champion-Legion
3. A logical order for pikemen:
Spearman=Hoplite
Pikeman-Phalanx
Halberdier-Centurion
4. Perhaps you could adjust stats for AOE stats, such as speed, HP, attack bonus, conversion resistance, etc...[Edited on 09/28/09 @ 07:20 AM]
