Age of Chivalry: Hegemony
Age of Chivalry - a total conversion modification pack for Age of Empires II: the Conquerors set in Western and Central Europe 1100-1500 AD.
Requires the C patch.
Some versions of AoK:TC come with the patch pre-installed, such as some Gold and Collectors Editions. If this is the case, do not install the patch!
Although the graphic changes are been extensive, we've also gone for a total revamp of the gameplay. We've replaced all of the 18 civilisations, there are many new units, new, civilisation-specific buildings (the Princely Court, the Assembly Hall and the Guild Hall) as well as over a dozen new technologies, policy decisions, a mercenary system, new combat dynamics, and even an extensive history section. Yes, that's right: we're replacing all the civilisations in the game with new ones!
Wider support for scenario-only objects is included, and to showcase these a multi-scenario campaign is included with the mod itself. Multiplayer and random map balance has been tweaked, a rudimentary AI has been included, and with the new countries joining the mix, the European battles are even better!
Features:
* Command one of three types of civilisation: the early-game Communal civilisations, the mid-game, militia/spear-centred Urban societies or the heavy infantry/cavalry Noble principalities
* Prepare to fight! Changed game mechanics ensure a much earlier start to the combat, with archery units available in the first age and castles and battering rams in the second
* Complement your armies with mercenaries like the Genoese Crossbowman, the Privateer, or Scots Guards
* Take up the fight as Austria, Bavaria, Bohemia, Brandenburg, Brittany, Burgundy, Denmark, England, Flanders, Florence, France, Friesland, Genoa, Guelders, Helvetia, Hungary, Liege, Milan, Naples, the Papal States, Poland, Savoy, Saxony, Scotland, Venice, or Wales, each completely different
* Advance your country on one of at least two paths by making essential policy decisions, affecting the future of your people
* New buildings, technologies, and units, from the ordinances of the Princely Court to the might of each faction's hero
* Research new, civ-specific, technologies, such as English Longbowmen or Helvetia's Eidgenossenschaft
* Discover the history of each of the 26 countries - plus special articles on the period's conflicts and warriors
* Historical 8-scenario campaign takes you through some of the major events of the period (the battle of Bouvines, the Barons' War, the conquest of West Friesland, the battle of Kortrijk, the start of the Hundred Years War, the siege of Maastricht, the battle of Chioggia, the battle of Vitkov Hill and the siege of Neuss)
Comes with auto-installer.
Version 2.03

Now includes the Userpatch, which allows you to set the population limit to 1000, play with widescreen, and many more features besides! |

You've probably made a mistake with the installation of the mod pack. When you install the mod, it will create a copy of the various files that will be overwritten. When you uninstall, it will remove the installed files and put the backed up files back in their place. If you installed Age of Chivalry over a previous installation of Age of Chivalry, the previous mod files will overwrite the old backup and running the uninstall program will simply reinstall the previous version of the mod. This is why the install file says you must first uninstall an older version of the mod before installing the new version.
At this point, if you want to return to normal AoK, you'll have to uninstall it and before reinstalling it make sure the language.dll, language_x1.dll, cam1.cpn, cam2.cpn etc, gamedata_x1.drs and empires2_x1_p1.dat files have been removed (it's best to remove all files bar scenarios/campaigns/AIs you downloaded and your save games, should you wish).
Also, before uninstalling and reinstalling, make sure you were running the uninstall file while in windows administrator mode. If you weren't, you can't overwrite files in the program files directory, so the uninstall file wouldn't have been able to run properly. |

why can't all civ's get conversion?
Communes does not have as many improvements as papal protecter. I like the new town centers especaily the 12th century one instead of looking like some type stone age building it looks like a dark age manor or something like that.
England unique unit is rather weak
everyone's ships are weak except for freisland
I think I would rather have you focus a little more on the AI then everything else above |

Communes gives a 20 HP bonus to Militia AND pikemen, which is quite alot if you consider the costs of these units.
Papal Protector enables conversion and strengthens walls - both are not used by many players - and enables Swiss Guards, which are very expensive (80 silver)
Englands UU has strong armour, so can take alot of damage.
Other strong ships: England's Warships (Ballistics), Genoa (long range and Galley upgrade), Scotland/Denmark have a strong Longship in 13th century |

I am sorry for saying something rather out of ignorance but my younger brother who I play against hates everything but death match and expense means nothing when playing dm I like rm better but we usualy end up playing dm and I like papal protector better then communes for dm |

Hi there,
I'd really like to play the mod, but I have an issue preventing me from accessing the game. I have the 2006 collectors dvd (ubisoft exclusive) of aoe 1 (and expansion) and 2 (and expansions)
After installing patch c, i installed the mod, and when I tried to open age of chivalry it said insert the original disk.
Can this problem be solved, or is it my version of the game?

LORRE22: Your COLLECTORS EDITION is already prepatched to 1.0c. So to solve your problem, you have to reinstall age of kings+the conquerors and then install chivalry WITHOUT installing the c-patch before."
sparkyAOE2: i think you have the same problem
figus did you have the orignale cd, in the drive fromt where you install the game? |
