Age of Chivalry: Hegemony
Age of Chivalry - a total conversion modification pack for Age of Empires II: the Conquerors set in Western and Central Europe 1100-1500 AD.
Requires the C patch.
Some versions of AoK:TC come with the patch pre-installed, such as some Gold and Collectors Editions. If this is the case, do not install the patch!
Although the graphic changes are been extensive, we've also gone for a total revamp of the gameplay. We've replaced all of the 18 civilisations, there are many new units, new, civilisation-specific buildings (the Princely Court, the Assembly Hall and the Guild Hall) as well as over a dozen new technologies, policy decisions, a mercenary system, new combat dynamics, and even an extensive history section. Yes, that's right: we're replacing all the civilisations in the game with new ones!
Wider support for scenario-only objects is included, and to showcase these a multi-scenario campaign is included with the mod itself. Multiplayer and random map balance has been tweaked, a rudimentary AI has been included, and with the new countries joining the mix, the European battles are even better!
Features:
* Command one of three types of civilisation: the early-game Communal civilisations, the mid-game, militia/spear-centred Urban societies or the heavy infantry/cavalry Noble principalities
* Prepare to fight! Changed game mechanics ensure a much earlier start to the combat, with archery units available in the first age and castles and battering rams in the second
* Complement your armies with mercenaries like the Genoese Crossbowman, the Privateer, or Scots Guards
* Take up the fight as Austria, Bavaria, Bohemia, Brandenburg, Brittany, Burgundy, Denmark, England, Flanders, Florence, France, Friesland, Genoa, Guelders, Helvetia, Hungary, Liege, Milan, Naples, the Papal States, Poland, Savoy, Saxony, Scotland, Venice, or Wales, each completely different
* Advance your country on one of at least two paths by making essential policy decisions, affecting the future of your people
* New buildings, technologies, and units, from the ordinances of the Princely Court to the might of each faction's hero
* Research new, civ-specific, technologies, such as English Longbowmen or Helvetia's Eidgenossenschaft
* Discover the history of each of the 26 countries - plus special articles on the period's conflicts and warriors
* Historical 8-scenario campaign takes you through some of the major events of the period (the battle of Bouvines, the Barons' War, the conquest of West Friesland, the battle of Kortrijk, the start of the Hundred Years War, the siege of Maastricht, the battle of Chioggia, the battle of Vitkov Hill and the siege of Neuss)
Comes with auto-installer.

This looks really awesome and I was really looking forward to playing it, but then I read all the comments about not having an AI suitable for playing it.
I can't play multiplayer cause I live in a dorm, and they probably won't go through the trouble of opening ports and giving me a static IP and whatever just to play a game online.
I'm not blaming anybody, I'm just hoping someday we'll get an AI (or more, hopefully) that'll play this mod. |

This is breathtaking. This had so much effort and time put in to it that it could likely be considered one of the best(if not the best) things ever to be made for Age of Kings. The changes in this are astounding! There is so many new aspects in this game that make it an amazing Overhaul. Every civilization is changed to fit the time-period. New units, graphics and buildings galore. This game as countless changes. With an 8 scenario campaign and with more in the works this Mod will be popular for a very long time.
This game is the biggest must-have in Age of Kings Heaven.

You must installed the Modpack Studio first , install in Age Of Empire II Floder then open the Modpack Studio App. and it will appear toolbar then click yes and wait. After that, you can open this .AKG or .AKX files. Click and it will appear other toolbar choose your version that you want play. (AGEII or AGEII: TC). Just exit the AGEII if you want uninstall or closed the modpack.
(RE: You must have AGEII: Expansion TC and installed the Modpack Studio First) |

Yes, the mod is very suitable for multiplayer games, as long as everyone has the same version of the mod.
The file has now been updated, mostly in the interest of scenario designers. Changes include:
* The Genoese Hobelar is now called the Berroviere. This was the genuine name for Italian light cavalry during this period, and referred to the ruffian-like background of the soldiers (Hobelars originated in Scotland/Ireland as mercenaries, but the name only caught on in Western Europe).
* New scenario editor unit added: the Carroccio. This is a banner on a carriage. It moves at the same speed as a battering ram and is virtually immune to arrows (20 pierce armour), though siege weapons and infantry assaults will crack it. It has no special effects. It is recommended you use a freeze object effect on it in your scenarios. (You can also acquire this unit during a random map game by typing ‘I love the monkey head’ in the chat bar.)
* New scenario editor unit added: ‘Objects’. These are available only to the Gaia player and can be found under the ‘Other’ tab. It includes nine different scenario editor objects, ranging from wells to barrels to wheelbarrows to a new kind of statue.
* New scenario editor unit added: ‘Bamboo Stump’. This is another Gaia only object, available under the ‘Other’ tab. Veteran designer might remember it from the original AoK; it has now been reinstated and no longer decomposes.
* New scenario editor unit enabled: ‘Ice patch’. The beta ice patch that was hidden in the game is now available for the Gaia player through the ‘Other’ tab.
* New scenario editor units added: ‘Wooden Bridge’. This is a structure found in the ‘Buildings’ tab, which can be used to construct a wooden bridge or pier.
* Bohemian monument (Karlstejn castle) made less fuzzy.
* Some of the old scenarios now use the new scenario editor objects. |

has anyone made an ai to make the welse build there assembly hall instead of archery range and i played a random map of 2v2 and only one of my enemys build a suitabul army my ally and other enemy build some army but never attacked or built up there army properly. Dont get me wrong i think this mod is much better than aok normal but the pve wont always work. btw what building was assembly hall.
Edit: does the ai ever use the assembly hall, guild hall and princely hall if its prebuilt because i know they never build it.
Edit: the strong point of this mod is for online play but you cant get onto online play anymore due to them closing it down. also is there a private server only for ppl with this mod.
Edit: ok the rustinator ai will build up and attack but wont build its unique building or train knightly infantry/ cavalry but will build the rest if the original civilization got the unit.[Edited on 09/28/08 @ 09:19 PM]

thanks ALOT for creating such a mod, it's just what i was looking for, but i think i have a problem with installing it, because i dont think its complete. are there supposed to be new languages, or do they remain the same? because when i was playing with the guelders, for example, i got the old byzantine civalization with the language and the swords on the ships..., is that normal or am i missin something? and i also still got the AOK campaigns, the conquerors expansion's campaigns and in "Custom game" i got only one "Age of Chivalry" campaign, and a scenario called 1214 bouvines, also the history has changed, but the music for each civilization is still the same from the original version, so for i example when i click on the burgundy history i get the chinese civilization music, and the "ducal lancer" is the originally heavy camel, i am just askin is that how it's supposed to be or is there something missin with my installation?...thanks again for the great work, and hope i could know if there is anythin missin with my installation. |
