.: Medivia :.
As you stop on the road to help a fellow with an engine-problem in his car, he knocks you unconcious. When you wake up, you're in a different world... or are you?
If you ever wondered why ADOC, A Dream of Conquest, suddenly stopped in progress, this is your answer. Apart for the mini-scenarios and competition entries I've created, this is what I've been working on for over a year, all in secret. Several hours of work every day, late nights up designing has resulted in this, massive scenario.
FEATURES:
• A grand RPG with a total of 16 different ending
• 13 jobs to choose from, everyone gives you different status and accessability in the cities
• For those who care, slightly more than 4 000 triggers
• Decent map design, all of the map is accessible for exploration
• In depth story that changes depending on what choises you make
• Great interactivity; you can make choises in almost every situation
• Relatively small file-size
Oh, Lord. This, Basse, just very well may be your par excellance of designing! The map design breathes oxygen into bored brain cells; everything is very nicely detailed - Mashek
Credits and all are in the aftermaths of the scenario.

How do you do it, Basse? I mean the time it must have taken to design this. Great work. |

This masterpiece simply deserves to be in the ‘Best Files’ and being the only active official reviewer the honor is mine. I could ask Ingo van Thiel to write the review instead but do not feel that would be appropriate after he mailed me desperately that his time as design King seem to be over after .: Medivia :. However, he prepares to take the challenge and plans to design again. :) |

I downloaded it but didn't get a chance to play it yet, yet something tells me this is an April Fools joke. 4000 triggers yet the cpx file size is only 72 kb? |

Medivia is a single scenario campaign, a RPG, the people are real, story and places are fiction. The events take place in the Glorious Nation of Stormwind, you play as Basse who takes you on a tour around to visit the production facilities, meeting the people of Stormwind Studios.
PLAYABILITY: Medivia was fun and entertainment especially when you played this scenario on April 1 as I did and that is what playability is about, to have some fun. This is a cameo kind of play; you meet famous members of the SD forum throughout the scenario, and there was not a boring second. However, I missed game enhancing features, which would make this also very enjoyable for the following 274 days of the year 2008 and the years to come. I did not encounter any lag or bug. 4-
BALANCE: For this category, the reviewer rates if the scenario was too hard or easy to complete for him or if the scenario was well balanced. This scenario's goal is to entertain the AoK community with an April fool's joke and it is the author's intent that there will be no fighting. The Review Tutorial provides an extra paragraph to rate Balance in scenarios where no fighting takes place, such as cut-scenes, some puzzle/quiz and some RPG style scenarios. Just because the player cannot die, lose in such a scenario that does not mean the scenario is not balanced. You also need to consider the author's original intent, giving the author some benefit of the doubt. If the author never intended the player to face a struggle to survive, then there is no reason to knock down the balance score. 5
CREATIVITY: The scenario was quite creative especially considering its shortness. Creative story, different talk when clicking some units again, map copied and renamed buildings, fun units for the Studio members, a fitting sound file and a successful April fool's joke. 4
MAP DESIGN: Basic above average design with elevations and terrain mix on a small map. The map seize is not a reason to deduct but in this case, the map seize did not allow the designer to implement enough for a perfect rating or it was not in his intention. 4
STORY/INSTRUCTIONS: Medivia comes with a well written, but due to its purpose, from the actual scenario disconnected short story in the pre-game instruction screen, while the scenario has no story itself. Objective and hints were clear and the author included a BMP, which is always a plus. 4
OVERALL: April 1 is the birthday of Fred and George Weasley.
OBSERVATIONS: In 1998, Burger King had a press release in USA Today announcing for April 1 a Whopper for left-handed people, which included the same ingredients as the original but all the condiments were rotated 180 degrees and thus designed to drip out of the right side. Customers ordered the new burgers and many specifically requested the 'old right handed' version.
IN CLOSING: April Fools' Day reminds us of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty four days. (Mark Twain)[Edited on 04/05/08 @ 02:50 AM]

Hey Lord Basse, WONDERFUL scenario! I didn't expect the music files to work, since I've been having trouble with the sound files lately, but the music worked great! Once again, wonderful scenario. |
