This is a simulation of the Battle at Helm's Deep from LOTR: The Two Towers movie using Age of Kings: Conquerors scenario builder.
The basics of the game is to keep Aragorn, King Theoden, and the Castle alive to achieve victory. Gimli, Legolas, and Haldir are in here as well, but they are able to "fall" in battle and you will still be able to win.
I made the scenario quite sometime ago and did not get around to submitting it until now. I am an average scenario builder - actually it was my first full-fledged scenario. Instead of submitting it, I played around with it to debug it and balance the game as a whole. You will see that I added a few of my own elements to keep it fun.
The game is set to moderate, but is surprisingly hard on the hard difficulty. I included a txt file with tips and tricks to help you beat it. Even I lose sometimes and I know all about it! ^.^ Lolz
I do not own anything related to Lord of the Rings and do not intend to promote this for any monetary gain for any party.
Side note, If you want you can copy, the Aztec, Koreans, Mayans, Spanish, and Teuton mp3s, in the "Sounds" folder, from your "streams" folder into your "scenario" folder. This will playthe sounds during the game.
Lord of the Rings Two Towers Helm's Deep is a fun DTS style scenario where you have to defend Roahn from the forces of Sauruman. I had quite abit of fun playin this scenario. You have to defend the castle of Rohan with a large army and heroes from LotR such as Aragon and Legolas
I found the map nearly impossible on Moderate and I think only a very experianced player could beat it. After a couple of goes on moderate difficulty I set the difficulty to Standard and started the map, I finally managed to beat this map with, still, a mild degree of difficulty.
This map followed the usual DTS style scenario and incorperated it with the LotR theme, I am giving this a 3 because there was no specual twist of the storyline but I feel this was the objective of the author.
Map Design: 3
This map had a very basic map design with not that much terrain mixing, the outer map that wasn't used was covered by forest. the city of Roahan had a mild degree of eye-candy and terrain mixing but not enough for a 4.
Although this didn't have any background info it started off with a small intro explaining what was happening. It explained that you had to defend the castle of Roahn, but I found when Aragon died you lost, it did not explain this in the objective so I am giving this a 3.
