GAMEPLAY:
You play as the last remaining forces of the League of Independent States, the union of natives, once formed to simultaneously defend the lands against the portal-arrived conqueror Abedain and his armies. What now remains is a small force of loyal warriors and the last two chieftains, Echa Ditàlua and Chanxe Tiloru.
You must hold your stand against the many times bigger army of Abedain, and you must survive.
DIFFICULTY SETTINGS:
The difficulty varies quite a lot depending on what settings you choose. Standard is reall easy, mainly aimed at newer players, Moderate is challenging but beatable and Hard is for gaming masochists who enjoy losing.

Having native chieftains called Jack and Anne wouldn't seem realistic now would it? |

Hey,
I don't know what's wrong here, but did you forgot the triggers to change their names? Because they were just named 'Joan of arc' and Constantinople or what was his name XD
Anyway, great scenario, great story, I'll think I'll review it soon.
I just survived with my 2 heroes running around in circles until the 10 minutes were off, because I lost all my men (I played on the highest difficulty so...)
Anyway, when the Hellspawn had to kill me, my units didn't changed back to me, bug or was that meant to?
Greetings,

That would be a bug, though I haven't encountered it myself, neither did Impeached during the playtesting :{
You probably just forgot to extract the .dll file. That file changes the names so that the Hellspawns are called Hellspawns when created, as well as changing some regular unit names. While on it, I used it to change the names of the heroes as well, just because I could :P |

Hey,
probably, but some units/buildings were renamed. Like the tower, it was named as the Tower of the moon. But the Hellspawn units were just called Adv. heavy Archer? or what was it? and Elite berserker or berserker, while ago since I played it xd
anyway, it won't change anything on my review. I'll still need to find time to make it :)

Some units and buildings were renamed with triggers, like the Tower, but most common soldiers, the Hellspawn and the heroes were renamed through the .dll file, so you simply must've forgotten to extract it ;)
Looking forward to the review, although I think you should post it after the judging session is over. |

Indeed Basse possess an ability in fantasizing ridiculous names. Nice ones, though. ;)[Edited on 07/05/08 @ 06:18 AM]

Another epic, Basse - albeit on a much, much smaller format! Good creativity, fun gameplay and a good story which really sets the game up. Good work, I look forward to seeing more from you. |

Overall Rating: 5.0
Note: I really want to rate it higher than a 5, but I can’t…
Playability: (5)
I really enjoyed playing this short scenario. I began to play it not knowing what a mini-game is. Apparently, they are full stories jammed into 20 game minutes. Incredibly short game time, but it was still quite an enjoyable scenario to play. The incredible history, which I will detail later in the review, really went a long ways into getting me deeper into the game. The ending was also a surprise (I won’t say what happens, so that I don’t ruin it for others).
Balance: (5)
Well, it definitely wasn’t too easy. You gave a very detailed and helpful description of who should play the game on what difficulty level, and I found that it fit me well (I played on moderate). The forces of the enemy were not weak, but they were not impossible. When the trebuchet came out, I sent one of my heroes to kill it, and was shocked to discover that it had been given way too many hitpoints to be killed in that manner. I also knew that if I devoted my forces to destroying the trebuchet, then the enemy’s other forces would overwhelm my defenses. I survived with very few men left, but I still managed to survive. Well balanced.
Creativity: (5)
Incredible. Absolutely incredible. The use of custom data files and beta units provided for an unbelievably unique scenario. The story and background information was amazing, a never-before-seen realm. The sounds which were used added an incredible amount of depth to the scenario’s storyline, and they were appropriate for each and every instance in which they were used. I loved the whole thing, and I found a multitude of new and creative aspects and ideas. Very well done.
Map Design: (5)
In a scenario with this much action, some people would overlook the map design, and dismiss it as irrelevant. This scenario, however, needed detailed, meticulous scenery to show the player where you were, and to give the sense of a wintery defense, being put on by a band of resolute natives. The map design found in this scenario not achieved this goal, but surpassed it. Very well put together, and a very effective aesthetic tool.
Story/Instructions: (5)
This was the best part of your scenario, and, if it were possible, I would have rated it a 6 out of 5. I have never before seen a storyline of such depth and creativity. It is almost as if you wrote a full book about it, thinking out every detail of both the war and the pre-war history, and then made a scenario out of one of the scenes from the novel. It is incredibly detailed and precise. Very well done here.
