Monk--A Sad Story

Well, I whipped this scenario up in a matter of hours. I had a scenario idea for MGC08 that was a continuation of Mystery Maze, but I ran into a bug near the middle of the competition and had to wipe the board clean. So I started another scenario, and waws making up the story as I went along. It was about two friends who were teleported into an odd world where their only way to escape was to please the world's master by going on 4 missions. And all this was on a 25x25 map. :\

Finally, after I basically gave up after 18 bugs. I made a post that I would probably drop out of MGC08, and then I decided, NO! Its not over! I whipped this scenario up in 3 1/2 hours and I do think it has some good map design. Although, I do not think many people will like the story.

As I say in the game, not every story can have a good ending.

This was quite creative, and I liked the use of a monk as the protagonist. However, this was too easy and short. Add more obstacles next time to force the player into difficult positions, and so that he absolutely must use conversions to pass the game. Good work, though.

Was it too easy? I lost three attempts. I converted a monk, used him to convert the next monk, used both to heel but he did not make it across the bridge. What did I do wrong? *Feels like a novice*

Hey Tanneur. I went through the same situation as you did, converted a monk, but seeing that I could not win, used the second monk to draw the main brunt of the enemy away while racing my main monk across the bridge and winning. There should have been certain barriers I had to pass before I could make it across the bridge.

Try just running to the bridge without stopping. It's too easy, in my opinion. No need for conversions.

I thought I fixed that... I tried to get it not too hard and not too easy. Maybe I should make it into a campaign. ;)

Nice game, I thought it should have scored a little higher. I converted 1 monk, used that to convert the 2nd, then the 2nd to convert a woad raider. It was too easy.
Cobaltz It was ok. I liked it. I 'walked' as fast as the monk could to the end of the bridge without even noticing the men and boats. Beat it in less than a minute.
I also wanted to say that the map was well designed and looked pretty;)

Also could someone tell me how to make such a small map?

Cilibinarii Sure I can tell you how to make such a small map. First of all you will have to search the Utilities section for the mini and mega scenarios utility (or how was it called again :p), then download it, save the maps to your scenario map in the AoK folder, play AoK, go to map editor, edit the scenario, design your scenario, submit your scenario, and see what happens.
