-------Battle of Thermopylae-the 300-----------
In the Battle of Thermopylae, which occurred in 480 BC, an alliance of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian Empire at the pass of Thermopylae in central Greece. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held back the Persians for three days in one of history's most famous last stands. A small force led by King Leonidas I of Sparta blocked the only road through which the massive army of Xerxes I of Persia could pass. After three days of battle, a local resident named Ephialtes is believed to have betrayed the Greeks by revealing a mountain path that led behind the Greek lines. Dismissing the rest of the army, King Leonidas stayed behind with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespian volunteers, 400 Thebans who had been pressed into service, and 900 Helots.
The Persians succeeded in taking the pass but sustained losses disproportionate to those of the Greeks. The fierce resistance of the Spartan-led army offered Athens the invaluable time to prepare for a decisive naval battle that would come to determine the outcome of the war. The subsequent Greek victory at the Battle of Salamis left much of the Persian Empire's navy destroyed and Xerxes retreated to Asia, leaving a force in Greece under Mardonius, who was to meet the Greeks in battle one last time. The Spartans assembled at full strength and led a pan-Greek army that defeated the Persians decisively at the Battle of Plataea, ending the Greco-Persian War and with it, the expansion of the Persian Empire into Europe.
The performance of the defenders at the battle of Thermopylae is often used as an example of the advantages of training, equipment, and good use of terrain as force multipliers, and has become a symbol of courage against overwhelming odds.
Source-wikipedia.org (only some text I copy) I am not so good in English, I am from Spain. I am currently studying in Singapore where I learn proper English.
Hope you enjoy, I make these and it took more than 3 days. If you say it was bad, my effort was wasted.
Last, hope you enjoy! |

I did the first three waves in open battle and lost in the third. In a replay, I lured the Teutonic Knights in groups to survive and lost with that tactic to the last wave, killed 1667, lost 80 units out of 85. The enemy has more than 2000.
I changed thermoplayae to Thermopylae in the title to facilitate the search feature. [Edited on 07/20/08 @ 01:51 PM]

Erm,to defeat the tuetonic knights, you must first surround them with your units.Use about 3-4 soliders to kill 1 tuetonic knight 1 at the time, you will save about 57 soliders or 58,thats my personal experience.
And,btw the updated version i have submitted it to the blacksmith,it solves all the bug and adds a war elephant wave..and which is hard to kill!
so stop downloading this version and try the updated one!
EDIT:
Written by my singaporean buddy-always.
i have updated this file instead of saving the hassle. The other campign that i submitted, you can choose to download either.
I respect your descision.

ezragoh,
You should update your scenario using the update button above your scenario description, rather than submitting an entirely new scenario. |

Thank you for updating this file ezragoh. I removed the 'other campaign'; it is the same and edited the new text into here.
With regard to the game play, your hint to take the Teutonic Knights one by one and that you saved about 58 soldiers made me replay. ;-) However, luring enemies one by one is not a challenging game; it is rather outsmarting the computer than using micromanagement and skill. Anyway, here is my experience, I tasked my units to the east to face the Militias in open battle first, and then I lured the Militias that stayed back with some units towards my army. Next the Spearmen, followed by the Men-at-Arms and two-Handed Swordsmen. I had to attack about ten Teutonic knights and a few groups of Eagle Warriors, avoided the elephants, killed 1756 and lost only the three extra men that materialised next to the enemy. I started with 85 and won the game with 85 units. To fix that, reduce the enemy units of the first waves so that the player has to fight the different units to win.

The auxilla should be from the roman modpack so if you don't have the od maybe the auxilla will be eagle warriors instead
