There are many people who won't talk to you because you are a weakling. After you get enough upgrades from both blacksmiths The response will be better. There's also an arbalest, some axemen, and a gate guard that won't respond untill you upgrade.
Lord Aro I think I found a problem
In act 2 King Anon got killed but I didnt lose!
It doesnt say in the objectives that he has to survive or anything

Hope i help

Lord Aro

Can you give a hint about how to find the relic in the St David's part, and also how to get all the gold? I'm scarcely a third of the way there but have run out of ideas/patience.

Yes I can...Hints ~St.David~

Gain Gold by talking first to the trader by the docks, then you can hunt deer for gold....you can find gold laying around on the ground but they are in out of the way spots....some people won't talk to you(they call you weakling) if you haven't purchased enough upgrades at the blacksmith by the dock, they lead to more paying jobs....Search for free upgrades at the carnival...The city has the start of most of the jobs...find the man near the military base....talk to the crazy zelots near the carnival...The city has the early missions.

The way to the end is through the teutonic knights(Clue to Gold by them, walk the path past the archery range) They won't talk to you until you have 3 upgrades at the blacksmith by the docks(don't forget about the blacksmith at the southern stables, select the villager) You need the upgrades for the later missions so spend your money!

This is an epic game which took me many hours to complete, something I did only after cheating heavily during the last stage to get gold (a lot of the gold on the map was inaccessible – was this intentional?). I don’t normally bother cheating but having played for so long I wanted to see this through to the end. I’d be interested to see if anybody managed to win without cheating. Oh, for a single treb or BC! Without any decent siege weapons the odds are stacked against the player.

An incredible amount of work has gone into this so I take my hat off to Jas. True to form, it’s very creative, there’s lots to do, some interesting and difficut challenges, and the map design is good. Some of the ideas don’t come off. I understand the idea of ‘Get and Destroy’ and the wish to make things a little different from normal B&D, but I didn’t enjoy these segments very much, particularly the one in which you have to free the islands. The problem is that the player loses control – you cannot decide which units to make or when to make them. If you’re too quick you have to wait until you can. Also, even if some of the objectives are difficult, there is no sense of challenge because you have, I assume, an infinite supply of units.

A few more hints would have been helpful in places, particularly the St David’s stage. That stage, and some of the others, has some very creative use of map copy. I haven’t seen markets like that and it was effective, if a little overdone.

All in all, I would recommend downloading this.

So, number nine – just how far can you go Jas?

Thanks for the detailed comment Stephen :)

About the gold, Yes it was intentional.....like a glass a water just out of reach....
About cheating, it doesn't bother me at all, I want the player to play it the way that is the most fun for them. In earlier levels I have anti-cheat triggers put in place.
Yes I did stack the odds against the player in the last level. Taking it down with limited numbers and equipment is more satisfying.
You sort of get the concept of a G&D, it's more of a combo between FF and B&D. You do have unlimited men but the wait forces you to go foward with fewer men forcing the player to use some strategy to succeed.
You said 'some ideas didn't come off' which ones?

Thanks again for playing and commenting!

Apologies for the delay in responding Jas. I'm struggling to recall what I meant about the ideas that didn't come off. I think I just meant the G&D aspect. The castle section seemed to work better than the island section. Anyway, I hope my previous comment wasn't too negative as there is much to praise in this design. I take my hat off to you for being so productive and consistently good - a select few can match that.

Thanks Stephen! No problem, I just looked today :D I'm happy that you are one of the few people who has finished it.
Wallenstein1 So, how far are you going to go with this? I love this series, and it would be a horrible shame if you stop now. Can't wait to see an X.
