This is a huge single scenario campaign ,with lots of action, and story. It is also a long game, so don't expect to finish it in a couple of hours.
PLAYABILITY: The most fun i've had in a while. The map was easy to follow ,and the civs were well spaced out. The instructions kept me pretty much on track ,which makes it much more enjoyable. There are all kinds of unusual twist in the game that kept me wanting to keep going. You start out with a monk ,make sure you keep him alive ,,beleive me your going to need him. You pick up an army as you go and latter you can build one but don't expect much ,you get only what you need ,, the rest comes from your own ability,
BALANCE: This aspect of the game is a bit difficult to score depending where you go and what civ you battle first on the other side of the river. The game starts a bit on the moderate side and finishes a bit on the hard ,but it seems the author intened it that way. I used a lot of "lure them out" tactics and i got through just fine.
CREATIVITY: Oh yea ,, lots of that. The game is put together wonderfully ,, You have land battles ,,water battles, surprise attacks, hidden treats. Some of the civs you conquer surrender their village to you , and your able to set up a base for the next attack. I never encounterd one trigger problem during the entire play.
MAP DESIGN : I could not find anything wrong with the map, in fact to put that many civs, and settlements on one map and still have a nice blend of paths ,water, trees etc., is not easy. The map felt as real as it could possibly get. Gold is only found on one spot of the map(west, have fun)
STORY / INSTRUCTION : Aside from a little grammar mistakes ,the story was easy to follow , and well placed . I didn't get those annoying instructions during a battle ,and the objectives were fairly easy to understand.
notes:
My computer played the game slightly choppy ,due to the amount of players on the map.
A great download , and hope to see more of his work. |
