This is Mithril Knight, also known as MK, bringing you a small review to the Villager Mode AI.
I am not too muchi into AIs, but if there's something that I know is that is one is good.
I doesn't create any military as pointed by the author, and the soldiers, monks, etc. don't move, is very good for RPS, RPS, FF, a lot of other scenarios and campaigns in which you need a passive player.
It only has one thing thst I don't like, that it's useless as an ally and an enemy in a battle, and this AI, has some similarity to the Passive AI of Ingo Van Thiel, it isn't an old concept, therefore not very creative.
All that in and the rating is a 4.5, very good indeed, but the lack of creatitivy and of the ability to help the player in a battle makes it bad enough to not make it to the 5.0 rating.

Villager Mode is a passive immobile AI by Woad85 intended for scenario designers to use in custom campaigns
Rating: 3.5
Similarly to Ingo van Thiel’s Passive AI this AI allows villagers to work as normal by gathering resources and building a town, yet keeps all military units idle just like Immobile Units AI does. The AI cannot build military buildings or train military units or monks but its villagers can carry on working as normal. Whilst designers may note the similarities between this AI and Passive AI there are some notable differences. Firstly this AI allows villagers to continue building while Passive AI only allows villagers to gather. This is a unique feature to this type of AI and can work well if needed in a scenario but can also hinder itself in others. For many scenario, careful planning and layout in a map design is crucial so allowing an AI to build at its own free will can greatly ruin a players intended design and hard work. Yet if the scenario does call for this feature then it can work really well and add to the effect of a busy town or city. The AI also will age up given enough time which can either be an interesting feature or a great hindrance to the designer.
Additional Comments:
Overall this can be a very useful AI in the right circumstances but for most scenarios you’d probably be better off using either Immobile Units AI or Ingo’s Passive AI
