AOCHegemony: Tactical Combat

Author File Description
File Details
Version: The Conquerors 1.0c
Style: Fixed Force
Number of players: 2
This is a map for Age of Chivalry: Hegemony.

My very first map. It is mp fixed force map. There are totally 4 victory conditions without conquest; more info about them in the scenario instructions.

The map isn't very cool and beautiful. But the this map's meaning and possible fun is in the strategy. There are 4 recaptureable castles in strategical positions and 8 landmarks, which provides some different bonuses.

Please, rate it and if it bugs or it isn't fun to play, tell me what's wrong.

Powery What may be discouraging is that there doesn't exist a big amount of players playing Age of Chivalry, and they mostly play simply Random Map.

About this scenario, it is 1v1, and personally I'm not fond of 1v1 fixed force scenarios as they can often last hours and easily get boring.

However, some triggers bring interactivity here, like getting bonuses under certain conditions. But still, getting same units all the time may also bore. Most Multiplayer FF scenarios use a system that eventually grants you better and better units, which guarantees that the game won't last for too long.

I also found many inconveniences. Like the northernmost landmark cannot be reached unless you take a trebuchet and shoot down the tree that is blocking the path, which is frustrating. Also frustrating is that 35 units hardly fit in the area that is required to be filled to capture one of the castles. While you desperately try to fill it up, the castle snaps down your units at the same time. Also, you should make an effect that moves units away from their spawning spot when they spawn, because if you forget to move them, they block the new spawns.

Although this scenario has some flaws and the map design isn't the most beautiful, it is still promising for being a first scenario as many amateurs don't use triggers at all.
I suggest that if you plan to make MP scenarios make them for regular AoK and play few test rounds with your friends before you go sharing it. Also, MP scenarios are easier to bring to public when you share and play it in online gaming networks.
