Update for ladder
OK, just to follow up, here is what I did to make ARFFI playable:
- loaded code into Notepad++ to make it more readable (AOK language color coding)
- indented code to make #load-if associations more clearly readable (now I can see what is going on)
- removed all ARFFI #load-if blocks that weren't directly needed for: Aztec, 200 population, Hard difficulty, Conquest, Mongolia map (this cut out about 10,000 lines)
Now I played the game and ARFFI worked fine. (I was actually hoping it wouldn't work so I could troubleshoot the problem and fix the full blown ARFFI)
Did anyone else have to jump through any hoops to get ARFFI to work with other settings? Since I did get this to work, I'm now going to go back to the original ARFFI and figure out why it is not working. If I find something, I'll come back and let you all know.

Oh yeah, in the test case mentioned above, I also removed all the map size code except for that needed for Small map size.

This version of ARFFI De'gel works just fine without any changes for me, it was probably a very rare case you experienced.
Two other things: As far is i know ARFFI is optimized for the AI ladder settings -> low resources start and arabia map.
You used high resources and probably a different map. Try it with low resources and arabia.
You should upload your AI if it beats The Horde all the time, i would like to test it.
Other than The Horde some strong random-civ and 1.0c AI's are Crusade, Barbarian, No_Limits.
If you desperately want your AI to lose against an other AI you just gotta install the userpatch and test against Barbarian 2 (also has many many different strategies) or play against Eagles Revenge (aztecs - only one strategy) on 1.0c.

@Aibuilder, Promi: Well, there is a reason I stated my AI is tested under some settings and may play poorly on others. I guess with high resources you can easily trigger Horde's flush defense while going for a fast castle drop. Since the map size is greater than tiny chances are the flush fails or my script even never scouts the enemy fast enough.
@ARFFI: Nice to read you again. :)
Haven't tested that but I guess the problem is similar to Degel getting stuck on hardest. Maybe that can help you to find the bugs faster.

I think this version might not freeze in hardest.
She shall jump to castle age in "hardest" or "high resource start".
The problem is that the old codes for non-Aztecs are not tested well.
(I wrote them far before so the current codes for aztec sometimes overwrite the demands...)
