I guess there should be such a feature, it's quite frequent to see conflicts arouse when the time to pick civs comes in AOK or AOTC.
I haven't played AOM multiplayer, but I do not recall a "hide civs" option listed.
Do you think there is any chance of seeing something like this in AOE III?

What's the point? I've played about thirty games online in total and I've never seen people argue over civs. Besides, even if they did, how would "hiding" your civ be able to change that? It would probably make things worse (people would know as soon as the game starts and there is no longer the opportunity to pick a new civ).
just choose random, where all players match up evenly.
Moooers are remembered, chirpers never die, splashers are invincable

I usually play random, but I find that some people complain about it. Anyway, I was just suggesting it, I think RON has something like that (Not sure, I last played RON a long time ago).

Maybe they could have a game option that is called "Blind Civs" where you can never see what civ they are. Whether in the gameroom, or in the game itself. You have to figure out their civ by the architecture, and Unique Units...

People just complain about other people's Signatures because they aren't smart enough to make their own.
I would also make it to where a host can force someone to be a civ(full tech is the closest thing right now, and it sucks). Or not another civ, taking away a civ as a choise for everyone who is going to participate in the game.
Never seeing what their civ is would be cool.

That's an interesting concept, I always like to know what I'm up against but it would make a good challenge not to know what you're facing.

Wow, really interesting idea! (And it would be easy to implement into the game, too).
I don't know if ES visit this forum much, but I often see ES_Deathshrimp posts at AoMHeaven's AoE3 forum. You might want to post this message there to get ES' attention.
Okay guys! I've posted the Idea in AoMH's Forum! Go in there and post your support for the idea and if we get enough attention Ensembles will have NO OTHER choice but implement it.

Excelent idea!
I think it will make the game more interesting but you can still figure out what civs your rivals are playing by the games graphics.
On overall I like it... Probably it won't really affect experts at all though.
I wish there was Random Resources Option... (you know starting with different amount of resources so games don't get boring with same starting resources every game)
Maybe the Home City feature.

yes in ron does ahve it. its an optionc all tournament mode, which hide the civic choosen. but once game is loading, it will show that nation. Now, if u pick random, it will indicate "random" as nation during the loading, n ur enemy won't know which nation u pick, until one of his unit find one of that nation's unit or building.
Hiding civ would make the game a bit more srategic (better game play). it wouldn't amke much difer for me since i'm a ron player (where we ahve to decide on socuting for ruin or enemy).

A system similar to RoN's would work well I think.
ROFL,ES is not going to be forced into it no matter how many people want it.
