After I get a car (maybe tomorrow) I plan on getting a Cell phone. How many people here have one? with what company? Do you like/hate the service? I think I'll need round 350-500 min/night weekends. I'm looking at T-Mobile, Sprint and Cingular right now. I'll look at Verizion and Alltell in a bit.

This is all, that is it.

I'm thinking I'll get it from T-Mobile... My parents have an account, and they have a 600 minutes anytime plus weekends for around 40-45$.

This is all, that is it.

My mother has a cell phone, but I'm concenred about cell phones after reading an article linking certain cell phones to brain cancer..

Nokia is always promising.
Not sure about the price, think its epensive because it has text, play games, and the classic talk.

Simfish - maybe there isn't such a link after all? I don't know too much about it myself, but here's a link from the opposing view, from a government website.

We have Cellular One, but when we can afford it, we're going to drop it and get a Family Share Plan from Cingular.

Cell phone causes cancer. What we eats causes cancer. The computer you are at is causing cancer. The air you breath causes cancer. In fact, just about everything causes cancer.

I think there is a better chance of getting in a car accident because of cellphone use than getting cancer because of one.

The cell phone-cancer link sounds like a good topic for the Debate Squad.

Personally, from everything I've heard (including my dad's medical journals), cell phones do not cause cancer.

Interesting article, GoC; I still would like to take caution; but I don't necessarily think that cell phones would significantly increase the risk of brain cancer. However, I still would like to take caution; as there might be a small chance of increase; although I do believe that the brain cancer incidences are simply a coincidence. There's really nothing wrong with myself taking caution, as I hardly ever use the phone: and really only call as a last resort; or when it is mandatory to use the phone. I cannot even recall the last time I used a phone.

Breathing in noble gases won't cause cancer at any amount.

Generally, I would believe that cell phones don't cause brain cancer unless you are exposed to a cell phone for almost 24 hours a day (even when you're asleep), 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Radio waves are usually harmless; and if they are harmful, then infrared and visible light have just as much potential to be harmful as well. However, it is still good to be concerned; but not overly concerned. I myself am a person whom tends to be overly concerned about small matters; even when the risk is small. However, you must always weigh the benefits and hte consequences.

For example eating food can increase your chances of cancer; as they promote cell growth; but tumors also need the aid of food to grow; or else they'll die. However, if you are overly concerned about food that you don't eat food at all; then you're dead. I would prefer to have a mildly increased risk of cancer from foods wrather than starving to death within a few weeks (It's a painful death, too). You could control your chances of getting cancer from foods though; by eating more anti-oxidant rich fruits while cutting down consumption of meats and junk food.

Meanwhile, if you are not a frequent cell phone user; then you might be a bit better off not taking the risk of a cell phone wiht the exceptin of an emergency. This would apply to me. however, if you are dependent on a cell phone; then it would probably be worse to eliminate them rather than to keep them and have a slightly increased risk of brain cancer.

I know; but still; it could be translated to nearly everything. I was simply pointing something out that could not be carcinogenic at any amount; unless it was a catalyst by some weird coincidence.
